Brown rice is more nutritious and has more fibre. It's definitely worth the extra calories.

I find brown rice is too much fibre for me to tolerate, so I mix brown and basmati rices 50/50.

Brown may have more calories, but it is a whole grain and has more nutrients and fiber. I try not to eat white starches including white rice. So for me it is brown rice all the way.

Almost always brown. I can't even remember the last time I had white rice.

I know brown is better for you but I like white better because of the texture...I don't like the rough texture of the brown and it tastes a bit like cardboard. I really like jasmine rice the best.

Brown is Best in my book, but long grained white will do alright if need be.

I love brown rice actually, but the rest of my family loves white! My Mom point blank refuses to even buy brown rice! I guess I'll have to cook it separately if I really want it!

Transitioning to brown. I used to absolutely hate it but I am starting to enjoy it. It is easier on my digestion.

Brown rice is indeed healthier! It has the whole grain and not the stripped down, refined aversion that is white rice. Fewer calories doesn't always mean healthier.

After being exposed to brown rice and emmers. I have found that the i like the taste of the whole and ancient grains better. They add more depth to a dish. For me its brown all the way.

I prefer brown rice (and like the OP for the longest time I couldn't figure why it was touted as being so much better). When I started tracking whole grains, it was obvious.

I lke bulghur too. And quinoa.
