So far so good. I am down 2-3 pounds and I feel like I am steps closer to my goal. I still have 70+ pounds left to go but somehow I feel that this time this journey will be a little different. My mom is also trying to lose some weight so I really want to lose to help her keep motivated. This way it could be a sort of bonding moment, heaven knows we need one.
I am so excited about this journey because now it's really about health for me. I am not talking about being strict on what I can eat and avoiding all non organics or whatever, but just eating foods that are food. Not packaged garbage that leave you with much to be desired, usually excess fat, lol.
Anyways, I will try to keep motivated and no matter what happens I will stick to this journey this go round. I am not getting any younger ;)

I haven't been doing too well at all with my weight loss. I am still a work in progress. I want to start counting my calories and perhaps a mix of intuitive eating in there as well. My biggest problem is having no structure in my life. With PCOS and ADD, I am realizing why it is so hard for me to lose weight. I usually fall off any plan where the rules are too strict and usually not normal to follow along with and if I am not accountable I usually fall of also. So, for me that only thing that has even allowed me to lose weight is calories counting.
I know there are a lot of people out there that are just now discovering calorie counting is not the answer to weight loss, but I think perhaps they are looking at the forrest without taking note of the trees.
Of course if you eat 2,000 calories of pizza, it is not the same as 2,000 calories of fresh vegetables and lean protein from animal source. The problem is everyone is so quick to think one special macro-nutrient amount is the best, but the truth is this will never be true for a host of reason. I say figure out your right amount of macro-nutrient amount and limit the calories, also start exercising.
For me I will eat around 18,000-19,000kcalories and I will exercise every day. With combination of caloric intake and exercise I should be able to lose around a 1 a week. Me personally, I need the tool of pen and paper to keep myself on track. This is my tool just as eating right and exercising is for any other person. I know what has worked and why it worked. I am no longer afraid of taking advantage of my strengths.
Right now I weigh around 205, I will weigh weekly and I will try to keep updates to keep myself accountable.
Ok, so I hope to write more on here.

Hi everyone, my name is Brollykat. I am quite new to all this, but I have figured out that I will not lose weight if I am not serious about it. So, I am here being serious with my big girl pants on, making an effort to make this thing a lifestyle change rather than a quick fix.

I have more or less always been overweight. I have struggled with body issues for most of my life, but now I am ready to actually do something about it. I have PCOS, just if anyone wanted to know, this makes it really hard to lose weight, but I will not allow that to define my progress.

I have realized that anyone who has every really wanted anything in life, took the hard road and worked it until they got the results they were looking for. This is true in any aspect of a persons life and no different when it comes to weight loss. This journal will be here for me to write down periodically what helps me in terms of doing what I need to do to keep the excess weight off. This mean I will not be doing the same things that have got me to this point, lol, that would be insanity. I might wright down what I eat, but mostly I think I will just write down how much I lost, how I feel and perhaps my workout routine. emoticon
