This site far exceeded any expections I had for a weight loss website.....probably because it isn't....rather it gives you all the tools you need to reach a goal. Along the way you will make some great SP friends

Glad to have ya on board

I also use an app called PTS Plus Diary. I use the numbers from sparkpeople and it helps me turn them to food points and it's not that much extra work

I just love the wealth of knowledge, fun, facts, people, support at SP. It's not just about losing weight - the people are wonderful, in articles are interesting, the workout videos are fun, and the recipes delicious! Love Sparkguy Chirs, Coach Nicole and Chef Meg - wouldn't be the same on this site without them!

I try different programs and visit other sites on occasion. I always come back to spark. I get a huge range of options and the fact I know the site well helps a lot. Spark is my go to place and feels like home.

I feel that w/Sparkpeople, there is more variety and it's really a positive lifestyle site!

I was a former WW person as well. Was lifetime. Got tired of it and did nothing for a while. I became ill with some GI issues and was food restricted,so I was looking for somewhere to track food. Saw mention of SparkPeople in a magazine article and decided to check it out. I found that I loved it, and it was a very easy transition, having done WW before. The benefits of this program are enormous and I LOVE the site. Glad I found it!!!

I started with WW Online when I first decided to get healthy, partly because I forgot about SP (I had been a member waaaaaaaaaay back) and partly because I was desperate, and needed some guidance, or something. They had a "special" promotion for three months. So, I paid for the three months, and got automatically charged for the fourth, but on the fourth, I had re-discovered SP, and pretty much stopped tracking on WW Online, and was only doing it on SP. I then cancelled my membership, because what I was getting for my $$$ online was not worth it.

I love SP, too! I used it a few years ago with amazing results, and quit when I got pregnant and breastfed. Now I'm back on track, and hoping to get the BodyMedia band, myself! I asked my husband to get it for me for Valentine's Day! Lol.

I used to do slimming world.. it taught me nothing about portion control.
Here at sparks I'm gaining a good understanding about the nutritional value of food.. I don't pile my plate high with potatoes now because they're 'free' I understand everything needs to be in moderation.. sparks is brilliant!!

I love Spark People. No sense paying for what we can have on SP and it's even more inspirational. Loads of info and support.

Have Fun!

I was actually debating finally joining that when I found SP... my mom had told me I should join several times but I never bought into the whole 'points' thing ^_^
Only thing I don't get is why you have to pay for the tracking app.

I love Sparkpeople. I have been a member for almost two years. It has helped me a lot. I like the fact that it's free. I used to attend WW meetings but it ticked me off to have to pay for weigh-ins when I was away on vacation. Besides the people on SP are a lot friendlier.

When you log in, on the top, go into Account Settings
You'll need to re-enter your password
In that window, you will see a box to the right marked (Get Help)
Last bullet (Cancel Account)
From there you click cancel account and there may be windows popping up to help you change your mind but I ignored them. I'm done.

This is a much better resource, imo. I think you will like it! I am also paying for the WW online 'service' and have been meaning to get rid of it. Can you tell me where on their site to go to stop my membership? I have a really hard time finding it...and I'm sure they make it hard to find for a reason! emoticon

I don't know why I've had the online for so long but I'm done, I'm 100% Sparkpeople.

No more paying for something I haven't used. Been using the tracking app on my phone, (the upgraded one) and have the Perfect Produce app as well as the Healthy Recipes and the Spark Quotes - how much more perfect is this?? The Produce app has made me venture to eating fruits and veggies that are new to me and now to prepare them and the SparkQuotes motivate and inspire me.

Now, I'm hoping for a BodyMedia FIT Armband.
