I'm looking at your weight loss, and man oh man, what an accomplishment!!! I'm proud of you, the way that you're letting God sculpt his temple!!!
I feel like I know you, as you said that you tried MFP. I do agree with you, this site is much better and has more to offer. I tried to get one of my friends to switch over, but she's not ready yet. It's just a matter of time.
Thank you for reminding me that this is God's temple that we're working with!!! Whatever God instructs me to do, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I'm not here to quit!!! Thanks for your support!!! God has a plan for me, and part of that plan is getting his temple in order. It took me 59 1/2 years to understand that, but praise the Lord, I now understand!!!

I try to encourage new members to get active in the SparkPeople community! Join a Spark Team or two that match your interests. You will find it easy to get acquainted with folks on Spark Teams. For instance, you can select a Team of Sparkers in your city, or Sparkers who follow a particular food plan (vegetarians, low carb, etc.), Sparkers with a particular health concern, or Sparkers who share your hobbies. Another option is to set up your SparkPage and start blogging. Some folks use the Community Journals. Post a lot on the message boards, especially if you have successes or challenges. You'll soon find that you're connecting with many nice folks here.

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Welcome! I have tried MFP and LoseIt. I love Lose-Its mobile app, as I can track when not online, but Sparkpeople has them all beat, hands down! There is a reason why it is the most medically recommended site!
It can be overwhelming, though, so be sure to ask for help when you need it. Also, check out the Sparkteams and create your Sparkpage if you haven't yet.
I'm excited about being on this site, but I'm finding it very intimidating to get around. I'm used to MFP, which I've been using for quite some time. One of the trainers at Curves, told me about this site, and she explained how much better it is than MFP. I decided to give it a try. I'm loving it, even though I'm still learning how to get around and do things. I'm still doing MFP, as I have too many friends there, that I don't want to leave high and dry. As God directs me to, I'll steer them to this site. This site has more to offer.
I started out at 388 lbs. and now I'm down to 237. My doctors have told me that a good weight is 200 lbs., so that's my goal weight. God is the one doing this transformation in me, and I have to give Him all the GLORY!!!
If there is anybody out there, that can guide me through this maze, that I'm in, I would surely welcome your advice.
