It's a high rep/lower weight strength program that tends to focus on overall endurance vs power. The setup typically involves working one body part/region per song which lasts 3-5 minutes.

If you click on the link I provided it will show DVD clips and you can see. It's usually traditional strength work meets HIGH reps. we're talking 100+ reps.

Jari Love sells fitness DVDs that use a similar method. You can try it in the privacy of your home for much less. No barbells needed, only dumbbells.

I tried BodyPump a few times and I like the concept and the people who participated were great. I quit going because the instructor did the same routine every week and I got bored.

I take Group Power which similar to Body Pump. I love my class. I have become stronger. I love how it makes me feel. I get my sweat on in an hour. I would go try it once and see if it is for you......

I love body pump. There are some people who do not feel they are strength training, but you get out of the class what you put in. The goal of a class like that is working on muscular endurance, but I use heavier weights and exhaust my muscles before the set it done. I really get a good workout and I have noticed that my muscles have more definition and I really do feel stronger.

Thank I think I am going to give it a try the next class that is offered. I have watched the videos on it and it looks like it would be kind of fun. I think much better than just going and walking on the treadmill and the bikes. At least you seem to be working your whole body out.

I love BodyPump. I highly recommend that you give it a try. For me it is a great way to get in regular strength training and have an instructor there to show me the moves and make sure I challenge myself with heavier weights over time.

A number of folks on here have raved about the classes. I haven't found the time to try one yet.
