Try cooking spray, and baking them rather than frying them. It works!

Hello! I just found a recipe for black bean burgers, using a can of black beans. I mashed 'em, formed 'em and cooked 3 patties. While I was cooking them I noticed they were taking a lot of the oil (I pan fried them). Had to add more oil once or twice. But they were delicious and crispy.
Even though they were soo good, I don't want to finish making the rest of the black bean mixture because of the oil.
So, was wondering, does anyone know of a substitute for oil I can use? Not butter, but maybe Pam? Have only used Pam once so would it work for this? And does Pam work for meats too?
Thanks!
