Lighten up on yourself. You are dealing with so much now. Don't add to it by piling on. If your friend was in a similar situation, what would you be telling her? Those are the same words you should be using on yourself. Hang in there.

I am sorry to hear that your cancer has returned. It is quite possible that rather than intentionally deserting you, your friends may not know quite what to say or do. They may be needing time to get their own heads around it.

It sounds like you might have more strength than you thought - chucking it in the trash - LOL!

Take care and BIG hugs,
Kris xxx

My favorite way to "defeat" a trigger food is to totally, completely obliterate it. Cake is a big trigger for me to binge, too. I understand how you feel!

I suggest you destroy the cake. Don't just throw it out - beat it up! Take back your power. Put that cake in a big garbage sack and smash it. Toss mustard and ketchup and other gross non-cakey condiments in there and smash it again. Say, "Cake! You're not the boss of me!" or some other such thing. That cake is NOT more powerful than you. Go teach it a lesson!

Jessica,

Put those two days behind you. You can't change the past, but you CAN influence and change the future. What's done is done. You need to move on and not beat yourself up because you're not perfect.

Tomorrow, you do your best to eat a bit more mindfully. Be kind to yourself as you would to others. You've been experiencing a lot of stress these last few weeks. You take things one day at a time.
