How about BBQed shish-ka-bobs? It makes a nice supper with either a baked potato or rice..... and you can use an inferior cut of meat that you have marinated to lower your cost....

Make his favorite dessert weather it be a cake or pie or whatever.
Make him his favorite meal. Or maybe one he really enjoys but does not get to much.

My husband turns 40 tomorrow. We already had a pizza party out with friends on Saturday, but I'd like to cook him a nice meal.
I have totally blown my diet out of the water the past couple weeks....but tomorrow night is about him, not me. So it doesn't necessarily need to be low-calorie.
Any ideas? The best I can come up with is a plain old sirloin steak with a baked potato, but that doesn't seem very original. I guess I could fork out the money for some ribeyes, but he'd probably just be upset that I'm spending too much money.
