Your weight is not a static number. It can fluctuate several pounds in a day and week to week! As fluid shifts (as you eat, and especially around your period) you can "gain" and "lose" several lbs... that doesn't mean fat.

If you've started exercising, it's not even unusual to gain weight a bit at first! More info here:

It can take as much as 6-8 weeks for lifestyle changes you make to show up on the scale!

I am going to hide my bathroom scale for a while so the numbers don't make me nuts. I started with the Biggest loser challenge a week ago and this morning I had my first weigh in. When I set up my profile it said my starting weight was 225.That was a week ago Sunday. This morning the game said my beginning weight was 218 and that I had gained 4 pounds. Last Friday the bathroom scale said 227. does any one have an advise. I am staying with in my calories some days on the higher side and I get 40 min of exercise 5 days a week. Thank you
