With the lace up back, you can still try to meet your new weight loss and measurements goals without as much pressure to squeeze in. Either way, you will feel beautiful on your wedding day, and your future husband will agree!

Thank you for your advice! Yes, I would rather have peace of mind than be stressing out over it all. Think I'll just suck it up and get it fixed asap. Cheers! Kate.

I agree with SCTK519, eleven pounds in two weeks is not healthy.

I would go ahead and get it altered so that it can lace up the back. Do it now because such an alteration will take a considerable amount of time.

A healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week so 11 lbs is really not healthy and unlikely. Is it possible to have the dress taken out a bit? Or that you received the wrong size since you said it looks more like a 14 than a 16? Can you exchange it?

I would just get it altered to a lace up back so that it fits. With only 2 weeks remaining, I think it's in your best interest to suck it up and get it altered. If you don't lose the 11 lbs and your dress still doesn't fit, you don't have any options except to squeeze into the dress the day of.

Hi fellow sparkies!

My name is Kate and I'm a bride to be. I live and work in Japan as an English teacher and my fiancee is stationed here with the Navy. I have been on sparkpeople for about 4 months and have lost 15 kilos / 33 pounds to date and feeling very good! Though I started losing weight before I joined sparkpeople, I have found the site to be a great support and resource. When living overseas, without family and many friends, it's a WONDERFUL site for me.

Trying to find a dress here in Japan was too tough, so I ordered my dress online from a reputable site (netbride). I followed the measurements to a t. I did the very risky thing of ordering a dress that was a size smaller than I was when I ordered it. Very ambitious, I know. My goal was to fit into it when it arrived. So, the dress arrived and I had reached the measurements listed online for my size 16 dress. Though when I tried it on, it was about an inch too small and it looked more like a size 14 dress! Of course, I was disappointed because I had already lost a lot of weight and had reached my goal measurements to find that it was too small. It's very tight especially around the waist and bust.

I know that a dressmaker can alter the dress to include a lace up back. But- I really want to get to the point where I can fit into it. So, I am going to try and lose as much weight as I can in 2 weeks and see where I am at.

The diet is working. The exercise is working. But, I would have to lose about 5 kilos / 11 pounds in two weeks. I don't know if it is possible, but I can at least try and aim to come close to that.

Any advice about fast weight loss done the healthy way?

I know that if I reach this goal, that I will feel fantastic and look great too.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks sparkies!
