I just stocked up on fruits and veggies at the grocery store today - I need to eat regularly again, instead of sporadically like I've been the last few weeks, and I think if I have something healthy on hand, I'll grab that instead...I hope anyway!

Love to snack on carrots and celery, but for some variation peanuts in the shell are a great snack. Because you have to take the time to shell them your stomach has time to let your brain know that it is no longer "hungry" so you tend to eat less than grabbing them out of a jar or can already shelled....

Snacking is a big problem for me too. (Actually one of my NY resolutions to limit myself to one snack in the afternoon).
Planning your meals on the food tracker early in the day is the best method for me. I put in all three meals after eating breakfast. If I want a snack before lunch at work - I take it from the lunch I've brought with me. If I do have an "unscheduled" snack, I put it into the food tracker. When I see how quickly the calories add up, it makes me think twice when the next urge hits.
Be sure and drink LOTS of water (or hot tea in the winter). Often, having a nice cup of tea will be enough to deter the urge for a snack.

I like the brushing the teeth trick too. Works for me especially in the evening.

Good luck!

Cravings? From hunger? or emotionally based appetite?

If you are hungry, eat.

If you discover your appetite is a response to an emotional stimulus, try and evaluate the source(s) and deal with it.

Try starting a project, take a short walk, or brushing your teeth each time it comes on---you don't want to spoil that fresh taste!!

My biggest problem is cravings. I want to snack all day long. What do you do when this happens? I think if I could tame the snacking the weight would fall off.
