Hi Sammy - I got a kick out of your message because I've also been lurking, but WAY longer than you. It's been a couple (?) of years - I always had good intentions to dive all the way in, but the time was never "right"! This time I'm serious! I have also joined a local on-line weight-loss challenge - for each pound lost or hour exercized, the health club donates 10 pounds of food to a food pantry of my choice. That's pretty good motivation, but not enough, I guess! I am 61 & need to lose 30 lbs. That's my initial goal, just to help with my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure. (God, that sounds awful, actually writing it down!) After that, an addition 10 lb would be a bonus! This is my official jumping-off point! I wish you much luck & here's to a healthy future!

Hi. I've been reading the posts for the past few weeks. Thought it was time to introduce myself. I am Sammy. Like many of you I've tried to lose weight more times than I can count. My husband has joined me this time and it makes a huge difference having that support at home. Of course he lost 15 pounds over the last month and I've lost 8. Lol! My biggest weakness is not being patient with slow weight loss. Over the last 2 weeks I lost a pound. I know I should be happy but.... Guess I should stop watching biggest loser.
