I too think that cleanses are a waste of money and time. I figure that my body was wonderfully made and know how to cleanse itself. I would never start to mess with the "plumbing" unless something is really wrong. Eat clean food. By that I mean unprocessed (as much as possible). I think too that cleanses may be harmful because they can mess with your electrolytes. Best Wishes
I agree. Any sort of "cleanse" is just a marketing gimmick. There is no scientific proof that cleanses are necessary or useful...some of them are actually considered harmful or dangerous. If you really feel the need to "cleanse" your system, cut out any sort of fried foods, processed foods, sodas, etc. you might be consuming and up your intake of fruits and veggies. Voila! after a couple of weeks without artificial products in your system you'll probably start to feel better and may even drop a couple of pounds.

Here's a detox that's doable:
-For 2 weeks, avoid all animal products and refined sugar and carbohydrates, including meat, dairy, eggs, bread, pasta, crackers, etc.
Here's what you do it: lots of fruits and vegetables, beans, nuts, whole grains like brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, and soy proteins that are not heavily processed and don't contain any ingredients you don't recognize.
-Eat 5 times a day, smaller meals and frequent snacks.
I'm doing it right now and I lost 2 lbs. in one week, while getting enough healthy fat, calories, carbs, protein, etc. And with only 10 lbs. left to lose, 2 lbs. in one week is a LOT!
Here's why it works: most of what you eat contains fiber and water, so whatever your body can't break down into fuel comes out in the toilet. Sorry to put it that way, but it's not like you have an upset stomach, you just aren't eating much of the empty calories that get stored as fat.
That said, it's hard to do if you don't pack snacks and food to take with you, and forget eating out at most restaurants while you're doing it, but for 1 week or two, it makes a great cleanse. Then you can examine how you feel and consider which foods you'd like to add back to your diet, which foods you'd like to have less often, and which foods you'd like to cut out entirely.
But it's better than the beachbody cleanse, because you are still eating food, it's just healthy food and you're paying for groceries, not some overpriced weight loss "cleanse".

Don't bother with "cleanses". You can't cleanse your body of toxins; it's not a toilet, and can't be flushed. If you're talking one of those "cleanses" that is really just a fast of foods that aren't good for you, that's one thing, but if you're "detoxing" anything, it's likely a waste of your time and money.
