I agree with the previous poster. Because of your medical issues, your doctor is the best person to advise you on what exercises are safe and what you should avoid.

I would not start exercising until you get clearance from your doctor.

You know, I'm finally ready to be serious, but I've had sciatica for 2 weeks. I also have two perforated discs. Did the prednisone taper off helped but it's back. I would love to be able to do back exercises to relieve it but I look at the ones on Youtube and think, "um, yeah and who is going to get me up off the floor after this?" I take care of my elderly Dad so I have nobody...if I get on the floor, I don't see myself getting up!! Thoughts???
