I had a muscular injury to my back, and it got to the point where I was in very bad pain - and the type of injury that I have will never go away. I urge you to go to doctor to have it looked at. One, I got a diagnosis, and two, I got physical therapy which has showed me what to do to keep the pain away.

It's hard to speculate on what kind of exercise is safe without knowing what kind of injury it really is. I would recommend getting it checked out by your doctor if the pain persists or gets worse.

I hurt my back while shoveling mulch in the yard about a week and a half ago (of course, just when I started seeing results and my determination level skyrocketed...). I'm icing the area 4-5 times/day and taking Aleve, which does give some relief. I'm sure its muscular and not something more severe. Never had a back injury before, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what exercising I can do without exacerbating the issue. Suggestions?
