I have this same problem!! Taking my measurements has helped me track that I'm actually loosing some of that back fat as I've lost weight - even though I can't tell when I look at myself. Its all coming off proportionately.

Which part of your body will lose fat first is genetically coded and thus it is different from person to person. Still, as you lose fat, at least some of it will come from your back.

I know how frustrating it is. I'd consider myself very fit right now; I can do things that I'd never dreamed about years ago. But I have that stubborn gut that just will not go away. It's smaller, though.

One day, my keg will go away, and leave my six pack behind. ;)

In short: You can't. :)

It's not just "difficult" to sport-reduce body fat, it's impossible! Individual exercises don't target fat stores. The muscles draw their energy from the blood stream... not their surrounding fat stores. Because of this, the only way to lose your back fat is to lose weight overall. Where the weight will come off first is determined largely by your genetics, so look to your mom and dad for an idea of where you'll gain/lose. You can improve the appearance of the fat you do have by strength training, but you can't reduce it.

Hang in there... we all have parts of our body we don't like, it just takes time and patience to get there.

It's difficult to impossible to target weight loss, so you basically have to lose weight all over and some of it will come from your back. You could also try strength exercises that target your lower/middle back, traps, and lats to build the muscle underneath.
