Some of the larger chain grocery stores are starting to offer an "Asian Foods" section, although they might be grouped with the rest of the "International Foods" aisle. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese cooking blogs: www.vietspices.blogspot.com/

I'm very much a beginner with many of the Asian food genres. One of my favorite Asian inspirations is Aarti Sequeira - she has the TV show, "Aarti's Party" and she aims to make Indian food accessible to the American public. Her blog, "aartiparti," includes many recipes to get started (www.aartipaarti.com/ ). That, and she has a delightful personality!

Here in southern California, I'm lucky to have access to a lot of Asian markets and don't need to order online. However, a quick Google search yielded results like Asian Supermarket 365 (www.asiansupermarket365.com/Default.asp> ) and The Kitchn's online resources for Asian ingredients and goods (www.thekitchn.com/online-resources-for-asi
an-ing-127521
).

The whole of Asia is included in this topic, not just East Asia! If you like Middle Eastern food or Indian food, or whatever kind of food you like from anywhere in Asia, please feel free to respond! I'm always looking for new stuff to cook!

Anyhow, I don't know about you guys, but I love East Asian food. I lived over there for a while, and want to make some of the food I discovered.
I enjoy the Rasa Malaysia site for looking up recipes. Where do you go?

What about ingredients? The nearest Asian markets are a few hours away from me, so I have to substitute a lot of stuff, and things don't taste quite as they should. Do you have any particular sites you prefer to order certain ingredients or cookware from?
