Normally i do this. It applies to any part of my life.. I am more likely to feel positive for others than for myself.

Like Sheryl, I am optimistic for people who are enthusiastic and really want to make it happen. I am not optimistic for those who want to take it off fast, and really am NOT optimistic for people who have a lot of "can'ts" and "don'ts". Like, "I don't like vegetables, so I need ideas on food to eat without them", or "I can't cook dinner at home, I'm too busy". Basically those with lots of excuses. If you want to make it happen, you will.
I am very optimistic for the people who show enthusiasm for working towards their goals, less optimistic for the folks who keep focusing on how to keep eating the foods they love, and totally not optimistic for the people who look to take is off fast any way they can (they will not have learned anything).
As for me...the spirit is willing buy the knees and back often object to the level of exertion I want to do. But I have learned how to eat healthy and portion control.... and that was the biggest challenge.
No, I am not. I know all of you and I can reach our personal goals, I have before therefore I can again. Never giving up is the key, and always picking yourself up again and again starts to become routine and a habit. My problem since I am getting older is not my food choices, I eat great, it is motivation to move and exercise. I still teeter teeter with exercise other then walking, but I am up moving a lot more now then I was a few years back. My house is now spotless again. It has been a few years since every room in my home was clean at the very same time. Never a mess, I am mot messy, but I mean looking real good with everything in its place etc. I am moving so much more throughout the day, and since I stuck with good eating habits and now am moving more throughout my day I will see great results. I am very optimistic that this is my time. This time will be better though because I know what to do and what not to do in my life and here at sparkpeople. Without any ill intention I see that sometimes you are down on yourself and we all get that way from time to time, but what we feed our brain can do more damage then what we feed our mouth. I think if you replace those negative thoughts you have with positive ones the brain will lead you to great things. It really all starts with a great mind. We feed the brain info and it reacts. if you tell yourself you are lumpy and dumpy then you will feel lumpy and dumpy, you will feel tired, lazy, sick, depressed and have no motivation. If you start saying things like I am good because I treat others well, I am good because I am honest etc. I am good because I keep trying and will not give up you will feed the brain positive things , the brain will then will trigger your body to react in a positive way ,then you will see changes in your mood and energy, and then that is where you find the strength to make other changes in your life because you feel stronger, more alert and all that good stuff. I hope this is written in a way to get you to understand what I am saying. I know you can do this Sassy :)

I find when I read about other people's weight loss I'm like yeah, they can do it. But when it comes to my own I'm not so sure.
