I have my body composition done every Wednesday. Today is the day.

I find weighing daily to be extremely damaging to my motivation. I had to get the scale out of the house for a while as i was jumping on constantly. Someone mentioned wanting to weigh after a workout..BAD idea. Yeah, you worked hard. its only right you should see a loss, BUT if you are consuming the recommended amount of water during your warm up you might even show a GAIN right after!!!
Your weight fluctuates daily, and by time of day. I try to weigh once a week, Monday am, same time, same clothes EVERY TIME. This gives a much more accurate picture....and i also have learned NOT to depend on the scale. a month ago, i knew i should lose. I was excited about the weigh in...i had worked really hard, eaten TOTALLY on plan. I got on the scale and GAINED. Normally, this would trigger my brain to say..hey if you are going to gain anyhow you might as well have a cookie and EARN a gain. But I'm different now. I immediately went upstairs to my tight jeans hanging on the closet door and pulled them on. And where as the week before i couldnt button them? this week i could. couldnt breathe, but i could button. So, i knew the scale is just a TOOL...and NOT the best representation of how i'm doing. the measuring tape and tight jeans give you a MUCH more accurate way to judge your progress.

I like to weigh myself every morning but I only record on my chart one weigh-in per week.

Yes, but I try to do so before I eat breakfast every Saturday. If I forget (or get busy with the children), that may change by a day or two!

I weigh in every Tuesday. If I do it more than that I will go bonkers. I prefer having an official weigh-in day, eventhough there are times that I want to check out the scale after a great workout ha.

SHEZZIE1 good luck with your weigh in. This week my loss was 4 lbs BUT I think its because I am really sick, I been staying comitted to walking and trying to eat but I am so stuffed up sore thraot sour tummy.

I know when I was obsessive with the scale weighing daily while back, it was cuz I was working HARD and trying to work out 3 to 4 hours a day I expected to see a daily loss of something, I was burnt out quick. I do commend those who stick to their plan of action, sometimes its hard to see past the goal if you haven't really worked towards one and finished before. The feeling is great, and like I say to people sometimes its like planning a wedding, you can't wait for the day and once you start planning and then start doing time flies and before you know it YOUR day is here! Its the same with reaching a goal even a weight loss goal. Once the goal is completed or reached its a new you and that feeling of I DID IT overwhelms you. so awesome!

Good luck IAMGIRL. Tomorrow is my weigh in as well. I lost 2.4kgs last week, so hoping for another good loss this week. Been a tough week, with not being able to get in any exercise because of a sore back.

Congrats on all your (everyone) results so far, looks like what your doing works. I am so obsessed with my scale so this past week has been torture not stepping on it. Tomorrow is my weigh in and I am excited.

I weigh when I first get up and once a week I have my body composition done. My trainer wants to make sure I don't let my weight sneak up between official weigh-ins.

To IAMGIRL: Yes, it definitely helps you to stay motivated. Either the positive feedback helps you to want to go on, or the negative feedback kicks you in the butt! I've been doing it for almost five years.

I have always been attached to my scale, this is the first time ever that I have actually stayed away from it. I am actually excited to weigh in this week.
