Hello, and thank you for your reply. I am amazed you are running 5k every day now; great, great job! I don't see myself as a long term jogger, but I thought this program would get me up and going after the Christmas season of eating. :) I am nearing 48, so this might be a stretch for me, but a necessary one I believe. I spent the last two years dropping weight, so I have the remainder to lose and a lot of extra skin and fat, which makes jogging a bit uncomfortable. I'm definitely not worried about speed. I have had degenerative disc arthritis since before I was 30, so I'm monitoring how I feel as I go.

Hi…I just wanted to give you some encouragement. I did this program last spring. I have NEVER run even a mile in my life (I am 40), but now I run a 5k almost every morning around my neighborhood. I am not going to say that it is easy, but this program gently takes you from point A to point B. I can tell you that it does get easier after a couple weeks : )

Good luck…remember speed does not matter and if a week is to hard…just repeat it the next week. It is about you doing your personal best, not about anything else.

First off, I am NOT a runner. I was walking pretty regularly, but the winter has kept me indoors and sitting on my behind. :( I found out about this program in a magazine I was reading and downloaded the app. I did Day 1 yesterday, and my hips are hurting today. LOL. But I need motivation to get rid of the last 10 pounds, so I'm hoping picking up my physical activity will do it.

I'd love to find someone else who is attempting this to compare notes and motivate each other. I really don't want to do this with another person, in person, since I am quite out of shape. Anyone interested in starting this program? I don't know that I'll make it in the 9 weeks, but I'm going to try.
