You're doing SO well! Congratulations! I'm just starting, have only lost 3 pounds and am still far from my goal, but your posted encourages me.

Keep up the good work.

I live in Montreal, Quebec.

I'm also from Canada.

I do find that many of the teams are very quiet - or I ruin them when I join, or something.

However, it's a good place to start, even if you have to read through old posts.

Total ditto to PARKSCANADA.

I can deal with imperial measurements on volumes, weights, heights, and temperatures (I'm old enough that I started with those and changed to metric during school), but it takes some work to figure out what folks are talking about with the different measurements for blood sugars and cholesterol readings...

Start weight: 240 lbs
Surgeon says Maintenance: 160 lbs (reached Jan. 23, 2014)
Revised Maintenance Weight: 155 lbs (reached March 7, 2014)
Revised again: 150 lbs (reached May 27, 2014)

Afraid of a colonoscopy? Believe me - they are much less frightening than surgery and chemotherapy.

Colonoscopies allow polyps to be removed before they can become cancer, or let cancers be found before they are too widespread. Please don't let fear stop you - cover your butt!

Proud Canadian, Albertan, and Calgarian. I find the blood sugar measurements confusing on American sites.

Nice to meet you!

I find that hilarious about the Celsius thing.
Because Fahrenheit confuses me!!
At least with Celsius 0 is the freezing point. It makes sense...0.
The same 0 in Fahrenheit is 32.
32 here would be scorching!

I'm Canadian but I was born and raised in a border city so the imperial measurements don't phase me. I'm Canmeriacalingual. :P

I'm ashamed to admit this but celcius confuses the heck outta me.

I am Canadian and there are quite a few of us on here.

Yep there's lots of us... people from all over the world, really! Though I'd say the vast majority are from the USA....

The only thing where the metric/imperial system fails is in our 'signature line trackers' - if you track your weight in kg, the sig-line tracker converts it to pounds, and shows you weighing near double what you really do... the way to fix that is to go to your start page, click the link for account/email preferences, and look for the little check box "use metric system" - uncheck it, and your sig-line tracker works.

I find the nutrition database is very metric-friendly - sure a lot of items are in there by the pound, but most of the basic groceries are in there with "grams" in addition to "ounces" and "cups"...

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

If you click on Community at the top of the page and go to SparkTeams, you can do a search for Canadian teams. I know there are at least a few of them.

Hope that helps,

Hey all,

Anyone here from Canada? I notice this site seems really tailored to the US (zip codes and imperial measurements) but I know you Canadians are out there!
I'd really love to connect with some fellow Canadians on their weight loss journeys!!

Please post.

Krystal W.
