I signed up for one in May and right now, I am working on everything. Cardio because I am going to have to climb the ski slopes at the resort where it is being held, and strength because I know there are going to be a lot of obstacles.

It is going to be awesome! I hope you enjoy yours!

I am doing a Warrior Dash this summer and I have been doing a lot of upper body strengthening as you need to climb/pull/push things. But on the other hand, I have like zero upper body strength. No way I could scale a 30 foot wall right now.

Hi,

I have done one and they are more about fun than anything else--it's really difficult to train for an event like this--you will have runners, walkers, those who are extremely competitive and others who spend more time laughing than anything else. I went so far as to bring a disposable camera--for me this was more like fun than it was about competition.

Hey all, so I just signed up for my first mud run which takes place in a month (I'm so excited)! It's a 5k course with about 13 obstacles, half of which are "mystery" obstacles. This one seems to be a fun-oriented, fairly low pressure one, but it's obviously still going to make me work. For those that have done one, how did you train? I already am doing Couch To 5k and some strength training, but if there are particular ST exercises you would recommend, or any other advice, it's much appreciated!
