If you are trying to cut the alcohol and wanting a non-sweet drink - lime and soda is good or a rock shandy (lime, soda/sparkling water or a bit of lemonade and angosturra bitters - can play around with different combinations). Adding some fresh mint is great too

non-alcoholic.....your choice of grape, cranberry, or favorite juice mixed with seltzer water. Add a slice of fruit on the rim of the glass.

If you still want alcohol, I do 1oz of vodka with a can of diet cherry 7-up, with a wedge of lime. You can do regular diet 7-up too. If you're at a bar or restaurant that doesn't have diet, do it with plain soda (no calories) with the lime.
