With grilled chicken and pineapple I would serve brown rice.
Have you tried making the items you are used to in a healthier way? You can make mashed potatoes low fat or french fries into baked. It will seem less drastic of a change.

How about grilled corn on the cob?

Grilled squash - cut squash long ways and season with olive oil salt and pepper

Have you tried fried bell pepper strips? Just saute them in a little bit of oil until they start to soften and they're very good. Red ones are my favorite but yellow and orange work equally well =)

I am fixing grilled chicken with pineapple marinade tonight. I am from meat and potato country with all the fried sides you can think of. To get the family to eat them what kind of ideas do you have?
