I did forget to wrap 2 gifts for the kids and found them after, so they became after xmas gifts. Ha Ha! I must do better job finding them ALL in the future!

Was in a big hurry and got my great nephews (all 3 are 2 yr olds) what I thought was hooded bath towels. They were plush blankets that were made like hooded bath towels....did I mention they were in the same display as the hooded towels.

Came back from New Year's Eve celebrations to find that he had managed to open the conservatory doors, climb up onto the table and eat his way through a bowl full of peanuts and several sausage rolls. My mother-in-law threw up in her soup bowl during the soup course of my sister-in-law's extravegant formal dinner. She felt better after and stayed for the presents, then threw up in the wrapping trash bag. Ugh! We all thought she had the flu and were worried we would get it but it turns out her sodium was really low and she is in the hospital.

I had a beautiful Xmas cake which cost a lot of money but was worth every penny. I left it on the sideboard where I thought it would be safe, however, Dylan, my dog, thought it would be worth a try and managed to climb up on the sofa and licked all the icing!.... Well on the good side it saved me several hundred calories!

no mishaps, but I did toy with the DH a little.I knew he bought me a coat for Christmas.So we where at the department store looking around and I saw the coat, so I walked up and started looking at it, and making comments about it, how nice it was and so on, then after a few minutes I said" oh to bad they dont have it in my size", when I opened it on Christmas he told me that on that day I was looking at it, it was driving him crazy and he was going to do whatever it took, even starting an argument with me if he had to , to keep me from buying that coat. lol. I didnt tell him I already knew about it though.
And, Avocado pie is so GOOD.If made correctly it does NOT taste like avocado at all. Hard to descibe the taste though.My dad has the best recipe I have ever tasted, only require one tsp of sugar.

I'm...not sure how appetizing avocado pie sounds. O_0 However, I'd probably try it if you didn't tell me what it is at first. Good luck with that!
I put waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much garlic powder in the healthy, non-fat yogurt dip I made for the veggies. I ended up eating it all by myself. Next time, I will pull back on the garlic a bit. I bet my breath smelled loverly.

made GF bread, and only found out later that the flour blend I used was not recommended for yeast-based products.
It wasn't bad; but not sure how much better it would have been with a better choice of ingredients

Not really a blooper as it turned out fine, but I was making a pound cake and knew I had all the ingredients. I sort of panicked when I realized my baking soda (the only leavening in the cake) was past it's "best by date". The only "expensive" part of my cake was butter so I figured I would give it a go anyway and it luckily turned out well. I now have new baking soda though!
Mine was I really wanted to try making a recipe I found online. it may not sound that good but for some reason I think it will be good. I wanted to try a frozen avocado pie but I left the store without the avocados I purchased at Walmart, and I was not going back for three 44 cent avocados. My guess is that the pie might taste like pistachio ice cream, maybe I am just associating color with it. I will make it soon though.
