Actively participating in the Spark Community DOES help with my motivation and weight loss. There's something about knowing that we're all here for the same reason that makes the community here so special. I've found that the message boards and spark teams are a great motivation tool as well. Join a spark team or two - it's nice to have support on a smaller scale too. There are a ton of teams (I've joined some local Maryland teams).
My name is Melissa and I've been using Sparkpeople on and off but nothing really stuck with me. I've been going through a lot of family and life drama for the past five years or so, and although it seems like an excuse, I feel like it has impeded my ability to reach my goals. Basically my plan is to get more involved in the spark community and hopefully to make a few consistent weight loss buddies to pm back and forth with regularly.
