Welcome to Spark People!

May I suggest making your spark page - and making it public - so that other members can interact with you and offer you more support.

Msg me if I can be of any help

It sounds like you've got it, eating less, eat balanced, watch out for the highly condensed calories (refined carbs) and move more. It didn't come on over night, so it takes time to come off. I too could lose weight in my 20s so much easier than now (late 50s). I'm just thankful that you've made the decision to lose weight which is one of the most important resistant factors for many diseases, which we do not want to have. emoticon

Hi! I'm 72 - and yes, weight goes on so easily and is so difficult to take off!! LOL!!

I'm struggling too - I get some weight off, and then it comes back again (I think I just enjoy eating too much!!) But I am determined to reach my goal weight. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that emoticon

I would suggest making your Spark Page public so that people can visit you and support you. Posting on the message boards of your teams is a great way to make friends. I personally find that my friends are my biggest support and motivation.

Feel free to visit my page, and leave a comment if you wish. Maybe we can support each other!

Blessings and emoticon Marge

I am 66. It just seems to be harder to loose and easier to put it back on if I am not vigelent.
I just got a spark brand "fit bit" and I am going to wear it 24/7 to figure out how many calories I am "really" burning. I also find eating out gives me lots of salt that seems to blow me up for a few days and I need to drink more to get the water to pass.

Just keep track of your food and exercise every day and don't assume.
Also weighing only once a week works better for me.

I hope others get in touch.' And keep in touch with me, check out my spark page.
Here is a link that will help you know how to work on the tools like the food and exercise trackers. Spark teams for people our age are fun and I belong to two local teams so I have actually met spark people members. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/motivation_ar

Strict 1200 calorie healthy eating plan plus daily walks and gardening, but weight is coming off very slowly. Anything else I should do?
