I'm sure glad u do a lot of exercise that is wonderful. I have gout as well, and boy at Thanksgiving, Christmas and last week when I ate HAM it flared up in my foot something awful. I follow Dr. Mercola's web site as he is a medical doctor that has a lot of help. He recommends a low carb diet. Also, I have read Richard Bernstein's "The Diabetes Solution" and he has a lot of help with Insulin Resistance. He says ALL obese people have Insulin Resistance and can do well taking Metformin for weight loss. He has lectures on YouTube.

Hi, my name is Jim. I am a 62 year old man that has exercised most of my life. I always struggle with my weight. I have been sick for a couple of days and lost a couple of pounds because of that. My problem with food is mostly portion control and I like to snack. A lot of times I eat after 8:00 PM mostly cheese crackers with peanut butter and an apple. I exercise 5 to 6 times a week combining strength exercises and exercise bike. I don't stretch as much as I should. I became a diabetic in 2011. I had many injuries in my life especially since I became a nurse which I am now retired from. I have developed arthritis in my back, shoulders, hip, knee and have gouty arthritis in the left foot with plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. So I am always in pain. I could use an online partner to help me with my routines and encourage me with my diet. Right now I got to go, so I will let you know more later.
