WHIMSICALSPRITE, you rock! I was just about where you are now when I began this trip down Healthy Lifestyle Lane. I know everyone is different, but I will share with you what I did to succeed. In April 2011 I was "sparked" by a daily Sparkpeople email. (I had been reading them steadily for three years before something just hit me.)
Long story short, I did ten consecutive monthlong Official Sparkpeople Bootcamp Challenges and religiously used my Nutrition Tracker the way it was intended (consistently not exceeding daily bottom line ranges for calories, carbs, fat, and protein). Results: Eye-popping, head-turning, jaw-dropping! Not only does Sparkpeople help you lose weight, it makes you GLOW. I swear, it is a life changing deal, this place.
Eliminate "I will try". Replace with "I will". You are now ready to succeed. Let's go.
