Thank you so much! I see that they aren't added to the database right away, but that's ok. I hadn't created a spark page, I only used the recipe calculator on sparkrecipes.com.

Thanks again!

you need to share them from your My Nutrition page, not the recipe calculator.

Thanks for all the replies! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. :( If I search under "Search Manually Entered Foods" I can find it, and of course it's in the dropdown shown in the image linked. But I can't find any sharing option. I see all the ingredients with a * at the start and they're user submitted, just not mine haha.

I also tried to add it again (with a slightly different name) to see if there was a sharing option when your typing up a new ingredient, but likewise no luck finding the sharing option.

Thanks again for all the help!

on the Add A Food popup, select favourites, then at the side is a button to "Share Manually Entered Foods"

click that and tick the boxes you want to share.

I have no problem putting in the info for items not already listed, but I'm looking to add them into the ingredient database on spark so that people I know or anyone else will find it in the list. As far as I can tell the ingredients I put in are only visible and usable by me on my account. So I'm wondering if there's a submission process to have user submitted ingredients added to the big list.

I tend to add just about everything myself due to inaccuracies of many of the items listed... get home from the store - add the new foods in (kinda fun doing it actually) - then when I throw something together I have all the ingredients already there to easy add to any recipe

I'm looking to add ingredients to the database with their nutritional information. I know a few people that have recipes containing ingredients not listed, and while I know I can add ingredients for my own account others will have to do the same when building their recipes.

The first one I came across was Mesquite Powder, there is one entry in the database for a specific kind but the nutritional information is lacking. The fiber, protein, carbs, sodium are in there, but not the vitamin 2, calcium and iron.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
