No, situps won't work. But neither will any other abdominal exercise for that matter. Burning fat is an all-body process, not a localized one. Energy is delivered to the muscles via the bloodstream, NOT from being absorbed from surrounding fat stores. Specific abdominal exercises will build up the relevant muscles, but will do absolutely nothing about the overlying layer of fat.
What you can do is to continue to reduce your overall body fat through a combination of cardio, all-body strength training, and watching your intake, and sooner or later some of it will come off the mid-section
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Diet (as in eating healthy) is the most important part of any weight loss regime. Spot training doesn't really work as where fat loss happens is determined almost entirely by genetics.

I am doing the 28 Day Boot Camp workout. I am noticing toning in my arms, legs, and upper midsection. However, I would like to find some good excersises to address the dreaded pooch! I have heard that regular situps won't do it. Any recommendations????
