Hi Brandy, and welcome back to Spark People. You can do this. Eat your fruits and veggies, lean protein, and try to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Find some activity that you like and do it for at least 10 continuous minutes daily. If you like it, you are more likely to stick with it. You don't even have to go outside, you could put on your favorite music and dance or try some of the free videos on here. I wish you much success!!!

Hi guys. I tried this once before years ago, but didn't have the patience for all the tracking. Now, I realize I need the community and support. My highest weight was 350 lbs. I lost 40 but started gaining some back over the years. The smallest I've been in the past several years is 297. I guess my first small goal is getting under 300 again- and staying there. My eventual goal, and as far as I dare to dream right now, is about 180, because that'd be the smallest I've been in my adult life- by a lottt. I also want to not only get regular blood pressure but eventually get there without any need for BP meds. I suffer from PCOS so being able to have periods and ovulate would be huge for me, particularly since I want to conceive once I am healthy enough.
As to how I got this big- well, a lot of things really- troubled childhood, depression, anxiety, and so on slowly take their toll. I've been hospitalized before. My recent big weight gain was primarily from moving from FL to WI with my fiance when he got a job, and while I'm originally from VA, I had never experienced a Northern winter, so being away from family in VA and his in FL was really hard, and depression hit hard and I ate and..well, we were stuck inside a lot.
I've been doing better but I've been sick lately so it may seem I'm going slow for a bit. I would love to make friends in my age group or around here because I could really use the support and yes, I want to support you too! I know it's a long way to my eventual goal but I believe I can do it.
