I blocked text messaging from the start. I despise it!

Thanks for the heads up.

If I can't figure out where a text/email comes from, the address gets blocked immediately. I've gotten those types of texts on other services too so any unknown sender needs to be treated with extreme suspicion.
I'm with Firecom. Whether by email or text, never respond to this kind of thing.

Great heads up. I NEVER respond to these kind of emails. My rule of thumb, it there is any sense whatsoever that it is not real, DO NOTHING BUT DUMP THE MAIL. Even if you reply to remove you from their system, they have your data that you are alive and awake. You will see an immediate increase in mail from weird sources. Gotta love that DELETE key.

Thanks! We have Verizon but none of us have gotten this call

There is an automated message being sent to Verizon Cell Subscribers telling them that you've won either $307.00 or $334.00 and to go to a "vzw.com" site with the 3 numbers of your "prize" included in the address.
THIS IS A HACKER SCAM!!
If you go to the web address you're told to, hackers will have immediate and full access to your account! This means they can go as far as to purchase and connect a phone to your account on your credit card you used to open the account and make international calls, download apps and whatever else they feel like doing! All of this without you knowing it until your next month's bill arrives.
I have had this done to both lines on my Verizon account. And, I have also verified this scam with a Verizon representative over the phone.
DO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS SCAM! If you receive one of these pre-recorded messages, contact the BBB right away! Verizon has no plans on emailing or calling their customer base to warn them about what could be a very costly scam. This information was given to me this very morning by one of their tech reps!
