Treats are fine on occasion.

Perfection is an illusion. It's not reality. No one is perfect.

I can't image living a life where I wasn't allowed to eat something because I was worried I'd gain weight. That's not healthy. We assume that if someone is "thin" they must be happy. Well, that's just not true. Thin people get depression too. And well, the dirty little secret the fashion industry doesn't want you to know is that those so called models who eat healthy may be smoking to curb their appetites. They may do some very unhealthy things to maintain that low weight.

Good health comes in many different shapes and sizes. I don't worry about what size I am any more because I am well aware that the fashion industry is constantly changing them.

Exactly what is a size 0 ? or a size 4 or 8 ? Who can tell me the waist measurement of a size 0 ? When I was a teenager, size 0 didn't exist. The absolute smallest size a teen could wear was a size 3. AND... if you did wear a size 3, people called you skinny and told you to eat a burger.

Today ? It's all about vanity sizing. Size 0 is one of those vanity sizes created by the fashion industry to sell their clothing.

I wouldn't trade the occasional treat meal, for anything.

And no woman looks perfect. Unless she has a cosmetic surgeon on speed dial.

We do not need to deny ourselves, but eat in moderation.

I agree, it's okay to eat YOLO meals on a special occasion. You can do that and still be a size zero. On the other hand, if you say no to fattening foods ALL the time and you are miserable about it then it might not be worth it.

Uhmm... well, I have to disagree... you don't have to trade your "YOLO meals" in order to look perfect. I mean, you can have them occasionally and still be a size 0. But that's the problem, actually: most people don't have them ONLY occasionally...

There is no perfect sized woman. There is no harm in an occasional treat. All things in moderation.

I reckon that's one of the reasons I like Spark so much-- no food is "off limits". We can eat anything we want to. It's all a matter of portion control and moderation. I like a burger and fries... and I'm not talking about some sort of "healthy makeover"... now and then. Ice cream, cookies, a candy bar, some chips. I can eat whatever I want. Certainly not all day, every single day. But those things can be fitted into a well balanced diet. For me, it's just not worth it to never eat that stuff, just so I could say I'm a size 2 or something.

I agree with the pp-- if I'm offered empty calories and I don't really want it, I don't eat it. I save the splurges for stuff I really want.

If I really want something, I'll have it. One thing I tried to change, but then decided not to, is butter. Sorry and all that, but low fat spread is not butter! I use Lurpak spreadable whenever I can find it on special offer. Occasionally (maybe once every 2 or 3 months) if I'm out I'll buy a Happy meal and find some child to give the toy to. (At about 500 cals that's manageable). But if I'm offered something that's empty calories and I don't really want it, I decline. Empty calories are for when I really, really want it - not for when somebody else thinks I should eat it.

You know those ladies, who look like a perfect size 8 or 0, who watch over what they eat like a hawk, with no allowances of treats : just to look perfect.

I don't know about you, but it's a price that I'm not willing to pay. I MUST have my occasional YOLO (You only live once) meals; like pizza, burgers etc.

I have friends that eat like rabbits, a pinch of this, and they can't even finish a bowl of noodles because they are so afraid of gaining! But as for me, I have to have my occasional bag of chips!

I know I may have a little tummy problem and I'm not a perfect size 0 but I enjoy my food, maybe a little too much. But I guess I'm at a happy medium, I can eat the occasional YOLO meal without too much concern. I've been maintaining at this current weight for a few years now.

I guess I'm not willing to trade my YOLO meals in order to look perfect! After all, it's no fun in life if you can't have ice-cream or fries occasionally!

What about you?
