I had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread. I hate it when my cravings are followed by my caving!
I also do the "real deal" but in reasonable amounts.

Chewing gums has become on of my craving busting tricks. For me its proximity, like one my route when i get near one of my customers place that serves beef patties, I suddenly crave one and tis gone the moment I leave her place. I find that my mind makes it more yummy than its really is, and when I taste it, its less than what I expected.
