I mash and freeze my brown bananas to make banana bread....although its sweet, its really not a dessert. You can toast it, put peanut butter on it for breakfast, .... if you use WW flour and watch the sugar and other ingredients it can be a healthy snack. You can also mash and freeze them while they are yellow and eat as a healthy alternative to ice cream.....I know you said not dessert, but just saying you can keep them a good while in the freezer. Have you tried adding to Carribean dinner recipes? I know they call for plantains, but a banana may work too...... Not much help, but I tried :)

I these--they're quick and easy, "whole" and have protein. You can make them with any nut butter.
