I've never had a body fat % low enough for a 6 pack. I'm just working now on having balanced back and ab muscles -- I often have weak abs and too-strong a back ... and end up with a good amount of back pain that way.

I may never get a 6 pack, but at least I no longer have a beer belly.

I got the Men's Fitness 6 Weeks to 6-Pack Abs. It looks fairly straight forward and with some discipline I might get there, but I think you need some kind of underlying fitness base. Which by the sounds of it I think you have.

Every body has six pack abs...mine are just under a 24 case of beer.

PSCHIAVONE2 made some great points. Especially the body fat portion. Here's an article that goes more in depth about what it takes to achieve great abs. It actually explains that men need body fat of 8% or less to really see the abs. Good luck!

Before you get too crazy, feel the ab muscles that you have. Are they flat and smooth or do they have the basic shape you are looking for. If your physiology does not give you the shape you want then classic six pack abs are not in the cards for you. If you have the basic shape then you can use heavy weights to build muscle in that area. Get to know the all the planks that will develop those muscles also. But if you are not at 12% body fat or lower, the six pack will not be as visible as you would want. I can only get a four pack and it took me a long time to understand that if you do not have the structure you cannot get that result.

I have lost most of the weight I wanted to, I have a little more to go, but now I am interested in achieveing the six pack abs look, is there any exercises or meals that will help me achieve this
