@Aquakween - I cannot figure out for the life of me how to change it from kilos to pounds. Everytime I switch it, and click save, it goes back to kilos. That is my weight in pounds. Hahaha your the first one to catch on to that.
As for the time challenge though, I'll start putting my times of everyday as of tomorrow, any takers can try and beat my time. If you can't beat my time thats ok though! Trying to better yourself everyday is much better then try to better someone else.
I have to admit, I have been out of it the past few days! I will get back on track this evening!

@joelsp- if i were to time myself doing all sit ups and push ups, it would be around 6 minutes. now i'm curious as to how long it will really take, maybe i'll post my time later. btw, your weight ticker has you in the 300's??
@runningcrazy1- i sure hope you feel better soon! also, if my belly looked like yours i wouldn't even be a member of spark people.
@libbyf- i understand how difficult it can be doing push-ups. i get on my knees to do them, the sit-ups aren't as bad for me though.

Today did my 50 and 50, and I can finally get a camera to do my before and after, even though I am technically on day 3. It might not be an accurate representation of what happens by just doing 50 sit ups and 50 push ups, because I do a lot more then just those at the gym and at home whenever I can.

Ok, the 5 crunches were easy, the 50 pushups were a little more trying and I even broke them up in groups of 10. I only got to 25. My goal will be to reach 50+ by next week.
I am SO glad to see more people joining in on this! I thought I would mention that I know the challenge says 50/50, but if you are wanting to do more (because you can) or need to do less (due to ailments) then that is OK. As long as we are starting a habit that will grow into something new.
I took the advice (or copied I guess you can say) from The Spark and began putting the number of days I've done this challenge in a row on my dry-erase board next to my office door. When people walk by it, all they can see is a number on it. No one has asked what the number is all about yet, so I'll be excited when I get the chance to hopefully start a 'spark' with another person.
I might be the only one who likes this idea, but maybe we should all take before photos of our stomach and arms, and then post them with after photos after 30 days to see if we can see a difference. I know it's always so hard to see a difference day-to-day, but maybe comparing photos 30 days apart, it will be easier to see! Taking photos of my flabby abs today
50 Sit ups 50 Push ups Perhaps this should be a time challenge as well? Might make it more interesting and stimulate more muscle growth. I did my push ups in 31.52 seconds. My sit ups were in 28.5 exact. Arms feel like they are going to fall off, delay onset soreness sucks.
Thanks for the compliment Aquakween. Today my abs were hurting a bit, because i fell hard in soccer :(. 4 sets 50 sit ups 2 sets 50 push ups Last set of sit ups I almost gave up at like 35 sit ups, but after reading your comment it helped me to complete my last set. Thank you very much :D
the challenge ends when a member no longer wants to continue and decides to end it. otherwise, we hope it will be a simple small 'spark' to get people joining in for more energy and a stronger core in order to build motivation to add to the challenge.
it's also a good habit to start, that way when we can't make it in to the gym or do our home/outdoor workouts, we can know there is a simple exercise we can still fall back on.
Hi there! I'm signing up for this...I already do wall push ups (50) per day but I NEVER do sit ups. I don't like them & that's why I really need this challenge. Hope it's ok to do it in sets (like 10 at a time) as I haven't done them in YEARS! Good Luck 2 all!

I like this message because it sets up to make small goals as "The Spark" suggested that we do. I am doing modified pushups of about 50 and will like to raise the bar with my sit-ups but is only able to do two sets of 12 at this time.
It does seem easy when you think about it, but once you get started it can be a real challenge. Even if you have to break them up in sets of 10 or however many you'd like then that's good enough. As long as we get to the 50. I know I can't do 50 push-ups in a row right now, and I'm even on my knees! One day though, that will change!

ok, got my 50 sit-ups and push-ups done after a 45 minute walk, so i feel pretty good. :) ill be sure to post back tomorrow. thanks so much for this challenge. i probably "wouldnt have got around to it" otherwise.
I like this idea, but I'm going to modify it for my body. 50 sit-ups everyday, and 50 push-ups every other day (when I do weight training) to give my muscles time to repair themselves. Great challenge idea!
