Hi Patrick. Welcome to spark people. I am the same way. I hit my highest of 346 back at Christmas and right before knee surgery. The discipline is the hardest for me also. It is a big hurdle, but I find baby steps help the best. Joining is one. Learning is the next and putting it in action is. At least for me. I am trying to make small changes here and there that will one day add up to the biggest change of all, the change in me!

There is a lot of motivational articles here on Spark, and many friendly people willing to lend support along your journey. Discipline is the key, and it is hard, but if you keep your goals in mind, and how wonderful it will be to reach those goals, I think maybe the discipline might come a tiny bit easier. emoticon emoticon emoticon

It sounds like you have a lot of weight to lose. Believe me, you CAN do it. There are so many people on here that have lost a ton of weight. It's going to take some time, but you have got to know that it is achievable. I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that's the key element in weight loss for most people. Yes, it takes some time, but the results are soooo worth it! I lost 90 lbs and there's no doubt that the food tracker was essential for me. Once you are comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, you can start exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day.

Also, it's super important to set small, achievable goals. These small achievements will start to pile up, and one after another, you'll start feeling a natural momentum and motivation that can carry you through to whatever goal you want to reach.

I am new here and want to say hi and yes it is true, I am over 400lbs, for now !!!

I am willing to listen to all who can help me, as I am not doing well by myself, but thou I have the desire, my discipline is not too good, see, I need help...but who deson't, right?

Consider me a single trucker with a 175 pound weight loss goal, and nothing short of success will do for me. did you get the single part, might be why I am having trouble with the discipline part, you think?

oh well better quit now , before I write a book
