I like to make a batch of soup and bring that in for lunch. I usually have an apple too, and sometimes a (homemade!) whole wheat tortilla. My lunch today is 330 calories.

Check out my food tracker. I'd say about 90% of my lunches are under 400 Calories.

I love to have a whole wheat tortilla (the small ones, I think they are 8 inches?) spread with 1 Tbsp of dijon mustard and layer with 3 ounces of sliced lunch meat (turkey is my favorite) then add your favorite fresh veggies, I usually have baby spinach, bell peppers, chives, and tomatoes. Roll up and eat as a wrap or slice into pinwheels. This is under 300, so you can even add some cheese if you want.

Another favorite, orowheat came out with these great multi-grain sandwich thins - a whole one is only 100 calories, I top with a half a tablespoon of boboli pizza sauce, 1/4 cup of shredded part skim mozzarella cheese and some chopped bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Bake long enough to melt the cheese and enjoy with a salad. This one is about 260 calories with a light done right vinaigrette, plenty of room for some fruit for dessert.

One last one from me, 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese with some raspberries (about 10-12) and a packet of truvia mixed in, a handful of baby carrots, and a slice of roman meal whole wheat bread, toasted. Then 1/4 of a cantaloupe or a bunch of grapes (frozen) for dessert.

Soup and a small salad or with reduced fat crackers work for me and it is filling.

In the summer, I love a big salad, loaded with veggies, fresh fruit, and some grilled chicken on top. Yum!

Boca Burger on a thin bun or English Muffin topped with some salad greens and pico de gallo.

I just ahd a great lunch, 1/2 a toasted whole wheat pita w/ tomato,a little cheese and one morningstar black bean burger. Less than 300 calories and fabulous!! A navel orange after makes the perfect dessert!

I do use frozen lunches as a last resort but prefer bringing in thing I have left from healthy recipes I have tried. I also make a few dishes over the weekend to use as lunches (often things the family won't eat). Chicken stir fry is easy and with some added fruit is one. Here is today's lunch:

cucumber salad, 0.5 serving
Scallops, raw, 4 oz 100
Roasted Broccoli, 0.5 serving
Nabisco Wheat Thins Crackers, baked, 0.5 serving
Lunch TOTALS: 305 calories

4oz salmon with garlic powder and some dijon dressing along with a sweet potato is less than 350 calories

8oz of salmon with 5-10 tablespoons of salsa is less than 300 calories

If you don't mind frozen foods I would suggest some of my favorites:

Kashi brand:
tuscan veggie bake - it's so fresh and slightly spicy
pesto pasta primavera - filling and tasty

lasagna florentine - easily one of my favs
pasta primavera - a great summer pasta dish

Del Monte (packaged but not frozen):
cheese and spinach ravioli
santa fe style rice and beans

Also I love to make eggs and toast for lunch, or just snack on broccoli and hummus (the roasted pine nut hummus by Sabra is amazing)

I usuually bring...

hard boiled eggs (1-2) , cottage cheese, and yogurt.

Turkey Sandwich and fruit (usually grapes, watermelon, strawberries, banana, apple, or orange)

Tuna Sandwich, fruit and 100 cal rice crispie treat.

Pasta Salad with Tuna.

Those are just a few ideas that are usually in that calorie range, I mix up the fruit with whatever is on sale.

i'm in the process of making my meal plan for next month and i'm in need of some 300-400 calorie lunch ideas.

i don't eat red meat.
