LEC358 was the habit to break not to get out of bed BEFORE you had laid there 45 minutes?? If you got p and got going after the alarm, you MIGHT have stumbled a bit, but you didn't fall! And there sure was no backslide!! You are all good, my dear!! Keep on keeping on!! emoticon

So I backslid a little bit this morning: Got to the gym at 6:20 instead of 6 like I planned. Well, that's why we're human and I'll be pushing again on my next trip to the gym on Monday! Keep up the good work everybody and I'll see you on the flip side!!

Momine emoticon . You will enjoy the Quesadilla EVEN more if you don't fill up on chips! You've come so far! Keep up the good work!

My temptation today is not going to be only after work, but after dinner too. My book club is meeting tonight and that always means lots of wine and snack foods. I have prepared veggies and lowfat dip and will bring some very light beer for me to have (just one) and share. I am going to try to stick to just what I bring!! I feel strength from this group and I hope I can carry it with me. emoticon emoticon

emoticon WALDEN!!! LEWASKO is right!! emoticon and we are here to help in whatever way we can!! Just keep us posted and we will try to help you out!!! Together emoticon

I made it through another day yesterday with not a single chip!! emoticon So, Day 6 is under my belt. Today will be a special challenge, but thanks to all of you, I feel up to it. Friday tradition for me is to go to the local restaurant and have the chicken fajita quesadilla from their Mexican special. That always means a basket of chips while I wait. I did consider this when I gave up the chips. I will do it!!!! My favorite is the quesadilla anyway. I don't need the chips to enjoy my real treat! I have a plan and I WILL stick to it!!!! Back soon to report on how it went!

Great going JACKSGRAN!!! You are a regular habit breaking machine!!!!! emoticon

LEWASKO, I had been making those same kinds of plans!!! Hope we can keep going together into the 2nd, 3rd or maybe even more broken habits!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have recently been taking a program called maintaining a healthy weight and my goal for next week is for the next week no snacking late at night. This will definitely be a challenge for me, but if I can do it for one week I can continue to do it. This will definitely help me with my weight loss and going to sleep earlier also.

slowly but surely I will get to where I am going.

emoticon NEWME!!! emoticon I am a bit slow welcoming you to the group, but emoticon indeed!! I am SOOO glad that you chose to give up the diet soda! I used to drink way more than too much. Eventually, walking became harder and harder. Then, a co-worker showed me an article on the aspartame that diet drinks are sweetened with. The research and personal stories were terrifying!!! I gave it up cold turkey that very day and have never looked back. Little by little the pain and stiffness in my joints and tendons began to ease and walking returned to normal. I truly believe you are saving your own life by kicking it to the curb and the sooner the better!!!

Thank you for the welcomes!!! I must say, that as of right now, only 2 cans of diet pepsi have been consumed!!! You are so right about it being addictive - it is - horribly - and I know all of the horrible side effects it can have on a body! It's my one vice in life - but I know that I have to give it up completely if I want to make my goal of 150#. Thanks again for welcoming me to the group!!!

I am a bit slow emoticon in getting posting done, but I did make it through Day 5 without so much as a single chip! emoticon Had a carry in luncheon at work and one of the teachers brought her homemade salsa and chips (yes, they are homemade too!!) Her recipe has to be my ALL time favorite and it was tough to resist. emoticon However, I allowed myself two bites on a Triscuit cracker and called it good.I sure missed eating it with reckless abandon, but it felt good to be in control. emoticon to all of you for keeping me motivated to just say NO! NEWME I am so happy for you that you want to break that habit. Diet soda has been shown to be equally as bad for you as regular soda. It is also very addictive. I was once addicted to it many years ago. One day I gave it up cold turkey and for a while I had cravings, but eventually they subsided. I think the way you are doing it is excellent!! This is a great group! Lots of support an encouragement! BTW- contgrats on losing 170# If you can do that you can do ANYTHING!! emoticon

Ok, my bad habit, or at least my worst bad habit, is drinking diet soda... diet pepsi to be exact. When at my heaviest of 367#'s, I was drinking sometimes 2.5 - 3 liters daily... 3 years later and down to 197#, I'm drinking 1 - 4 cans per day, depending on the day, but it seems to be increasing over the past few weeks. This is a habit that I know I need to completely break/end for many reasons, but I'm needing a lot of encouragement to do this.

Since I'm new to this group, I'm hoping that I might get some encouragement and ideas on how to break this habit. Today, I have had 3 cans, so tomorrow, I'm going to try to only have 2 and just try and wean myself off of it slowly...

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give!!!

Excellent!

I have many bad habits I want (need) to break, but have to admit that I never have a problem getting out of bed, my feet hit the floor often before the alarm. When my current habit is broken I'll think about which one to work on next.

As for the cereal - None for me again this morning. emoticon emoticon
