I just completed day 1 of level 1 and I was rather surprised! I work out regularly and figured this 20 minute workout would be a piece of cake... Not quite! The "no breaks" in between really gets the body temperature up and the calories burning! I have heard SO MANY positive things about this video, I can't wait to see my progress over the next couple weeks and overall the next 30 days! Great video, its definitely worth a go!

I loved the 30DS video. I did it in the 30 days recommended. The first few days I was hurting pretty bad, but I pushed through it. I had great results at the end. I moved on to her Killer abs video, which is a but kicker. I will finish Level 3 of that one this week and plan to do the 30DS again. Her videos have done wonders for my endurance level. Just last night, I actually got on the treadmill and RAN. and last weekend I played tennis with my 3 teenagers and ran circles around them on the court. I wouldn't recommend that her video is the only thing someone does in a workout, but I definitely recommend the 30DS video.

MENEZES1983 don't be discouraged! It takes time for changes to happen. In fact, it can take as much as 6 to 8 *weeks* for healthy lifestyle changes to show up on the scale!
Remember that exercise is critical for success, but the real magic happens in the kitchen. It's fantastic that you've cut soda, and that you're getting more fruits and veggies, but unless you eat less than you're burning, it's unlikely you're going to see a big difference. It may be time for you to start tracking your food! Give it some time, and understand that it took you time to lose the weight, and it will take time to take the weight off.
You would also be surprised at how little you notice the changes in your own body. You see the incremental changes every day, and 1-2 inches is nearly nothing, so without before and after measurements, it may be hard for you to see. Take the measurements now, and take a before picture. You'll be glad you did!

Today was day 8 of 30 day Shred with one rest day, and I haven't seen any results yet. I'm not feeling that optimistic, but I will keep up with it until I finish it.
I noticed today I'm not having that much of a hard time with the strength exercises anymore, it's the cardio that I can't keep up with. I have stress fractures in my legs, so the jump rope is hard. I've been jogging in place instead of the jump rope.
I didn't measure my self at the beginning, so I can't keep track of it. But, I'm assuming if loose 1-2 inches of my thighs I should be able to notice.

Hi everyone! I started 30 day shred 3 days ago and it's kicking my butt!! I'm very overweight and finally decided to do something about it. I gained most of my weight after having my second child.
I'm determined to finish this, and I'm looking for some motivation! I'm not really watching what I'm eating as much, because I'm also doing Zumba. I did cutoff all soda from my diet, and I'm now eating every few hours, with more Fruit and veggies.
I really hope I can stick to it and see some results, My wish is to look decent in a bathing suit by end of July!

I just started level 3 and it kicks my butt! But what an awesome way to start the day- and to see that I can do things I never knew I could do! It's SO worth the cost of the DVD, and you can do it over again if you need a little boost.
I really enjoy the video!!!! I have done it before in the past-you get in shape and I ended up losing two dress sizes. I eat a paleo diet and this workout just melts away anything extra that's shakin. Totally worth the $8. If you drink lots of water you find it a bit easier as well.
I started on Monday and was soooo sore wed and thurs. I took Friday off. I will start again Saturday. I pray I get toned.. I also bought her yoga DVD. Haven't tried that one yet.

I like the shred. I think it's a good foundation to build up to her harder videos (Ripped in 30, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism). My calorie burn per workout is as follows: 1 - 110, 2 - 150, 3 - 120. It's a decent workout for 20 minutes, and a good workout if you want something harder and decide to do all 3 back to back. If you do that, just make sure you do workout 3 first.
Love, love, love the Shred. It makes sweat and I definitely feel the burn - even on level 1! It's short enough to squeeze in on a busy day and it doesn't leave you extremely tired that you can't do other exercises.
When I don't feel like listening to Jillian-isms, I put it on mute and crank up my workout playlist!
Go for the Shred!

I loved it at first, was really excited to get to level 2. But then I got so frigging bored of hearing jillian say the same things every time. I can't handle all that predictability. If you dont mind that sort of thing, it's a really nice workout for a short period of time.

I just bought this workout a few days ago. I'm so excited to try it! I've heard a lot of good reviews from other people. I plan on starting the 30 day shred in a few weeks. Hope it's as good as they say!
I love interval training and when I bought this about 3 years ago it really got me toned fast and I've never left level one. However, now I find it's really hard on my lower legs. I don't know if it's just age getting to me or if I need to invest in better shoes. My floors are hardwoods. Has anyone else had an issue with this? I'd love to find another interval training DVD that lasts about 30 minutes.

I love the 30 day shred. I recommend it to everyone! It was the first dvd that I ever tried. I did it every for 30 days as you're supposed to. I lost a total of 10 pounds and a tonnnnn of inches.
It's gret for mnay reasons. One, it's easy to fit into your days since it's under 30 minutes. Two, it takes you through strength, cardio and ab training. Three, it gets you used to being active daily! I'm now conditioned to workout at least 30 minutes very day.
Do it! It's worth it!

I have the 1st level of the shred on my cable box and I completed that level for 30 days. Didn't see much weight loss, is that because I didn't move on to the next levels?

I loved doing the 30 day shred. Although I didn't see any significant weight loss, my body really tightened up and I got stronger with more stamina. It was a great way to strengthen up for her tougher DVDs.

I really love it. A friend and I did it over lunch hour last summer for almost a month and although we weren't terribly fresh at the end, it was challenging! With the three levels you get three workouts for the price of one! Plus for $8 you can't go wrong.
it's a great workout for just 25 minutes, which would take a lot longer at the gym to get the same results. I am still on level 1, but seriously kicks my butt everytime. I can already see the difference in my arms.

30 Day Shred has been a great investment for me. It has a great replay value for the $8 or so I spent on it (I got it in a set with three other JM DVDs).
I started using it in August and even now (after having done all levels and doing other dvds that I find more challenging) it's still good. Just last night I did all three levels back to back (with 8 lb weights) and it had me sweating and panting. Because I hadn't done it for a while I found it was challenging to keep up with the rigorous pace.
love it - and I agree with the previous posters, after a couple days at level 3 I went back to 2 and was challenging all over again!

I really like this DVD. I have been using it regularly since late October. I haven't kept track of how many days I've spent on each level because I find all three levels useful. After repeating level 3 for a few days, going back to level 2 feels more challenging because you use some different muscles. I've never used it everyday, but incorporate it into my week for strength training/toning. For me, 20 minutes is perfect for a morning-before-work workout and, on the weekends, doing two levels in row is still just a manageable 40 minutes. That's the biggest merit, in my opinion. Lately, I have only been using it once or twice a week. I tend to use it more often on rainy days when I can't exercise outside. I feel like I will always be able to go back to this DVD to get a quick but decent workout.
definitely will challenge you! Just remember to do what you can....as time passes, you'll be able to do more!

I am on day 15 (n Level 2) and love it. I haven't weighed myself but can see differences in my body/clothes and definitely in my endurance. My arms immediately toned (within 3 or 4 days of Level 1) but I am thinking it will take extra cardio to get my stomach tighter. I am also doing bikram yoga 3 times a week and running on occasion! I have just completed day 22 of the shred, I am doing it everyday for the 30 days. It goes against everything i know about letting my muscles rest, but its been amazing for me endurance wise. I am just in love with all things Jillian now, I have joined the team pp mentioned.
Also, I find you get a good cardio work out in the 20 min tbh, not just strength. I prefer weights and strength training, so without this kind of dvd me on my own at the gym would not do that much cardio, lol. I say give it a go for a few days (resting or not, your choice) and see what you think.

It depends on what you're looking for in a workout. It's a good 30 minute work out if you're focusing on strength, not cardio. I wouldn't do it every day like it's expected to, however...your muscles have no time to recover. I've also found that yoga is imperative to keeping my muscles from tightening up when using it, especially my lower back.
