Good for you for taking this step! As far as living with a family that does not eat healthy I completely understand. Honestly i sometimes feel they almost pick on me because I choose to stay healthy. My advice to you don't let it bother you continue being and eating healthy you can do this and you know what your going to be the one that feels amazing and energetic while they feel tired and just yucky! Hello and emoticon !! My name is Angela and I have been on this site since June 2012. Congratulations on taking your first steps to a brand new you and a new weight loss experience where you are supported by en entire community of like-minded people. This website is dedicated to helping people who want a healthier lifestyle including issues with eating healthy and exercising, as well as support forums where we talk about specific issues.

I completely feel your pain and live in Florida as well, and yes, people down here still cook with lard... old school cooking will kill you down here. I can only tell you what I do as my parents have retired and moved into my home so we didn't have the expense of double upkeep anymore. So I cook them whatever, or mom cooks, and I have a nice LARGE salad with some of the meat from the meal, or I add baked chicken breast or something. And there are times when I will eat what they are having (meatloaf, especially) and go back on plan the next day. And be sure to check out the PORTION DISTORTION articles as they will help you without you having to weigh every single thing you eat.

I have lost 50 pounds in 8 months, but I have been walking at LEAST 3 miles a day now (I started with .2 miles and slowy increased it until 3 miles is comfortable, and sometimes I do pull off 5 miles). So the walking is VERY healthy, but don't forget to add in strength training too. It will be a long road, but you have done this before and you can do it again. I promise that if you commit, you WILL do this.

So Thanksgiving 2011 My fiance and I moved to Georgia to be closer to her family in all fairness we lived with her mother. But that move helped me jump start a healthier life eating better and less in small meals throughout the day walking between a mile to two miles 3 to 4 times a week the weight seemed to melt off. I mean I went from 500 +/- I wasnt sure because no scale around would weigh me to 446 from the scale at the corner drug store in just a few months hen i was at 430 425 419 414. Then June 2012 we come to Florida to visit my family great havent seen them in nearly a year and ended up moving back. Slowly started back into old habits and 8 months back I am back to being over 440 I only know that because I had finally found a home scale to weigh me and now I step on and get the dreaded ERR code meaning your too fate to be on here max weight for scale is 440. I mean 40 pounds in 8 months could have been a lot worse but I need to start doing something about this AGAIN. Its just hard living with a family that eats fatty grease food everyday or gets take out. The portions in Florida are triple in size and are on the way to tripling me. I have to get this under control and it starts today.
