They forgot the nose, pimple and sore pickers whom then put their grumby hands all over the equipment we other people use and then just walk off.. I asked a trainer one day to watch a guy and the trainer did he nut at this guy..

Out over hard skin, workout gloves are a must where there are many people whom forget where they are and do this disgusting habit..

Funny and true! I would add the Lockerroom Exhibitionists or the people who just stroll around naked. I just want to ask them to put on a towel or something.

Hoarders annoy me the most!! What is wrong with those people?!

I just did one of those quirky annoying things at the gym. I made a spectacle out of myself without realizing it until after I did it for about 30 seconds. I danced while standing on top of the captain's chair for leg raises. I embarrassed myself...HA!

When I was about 45 yrs. old I belonged to Fitness U.S.A. and I hate gym's was because the younger use to ( went with my daughter ) the younger would snicker at me but I guess I had a complex then. Everybody would be watching and I was just a rookie so I bought some equipment then so I could do it at home. Well, now at 72 1/2 yrs. old and SPARKPEOPLE with MOTIVATION AND SUPPORT who need gym's. THAT'S MY OPINION. GOOD LUCK TOWARDS YOUR GOALS AND YOU CAN DO THIS !! emoticon .

Hehehe we have *ALL* of those at my gym!! I'm one of them myself even.

The only ones that actually are annoying to me are the Tongue Depressors - in fact just yesterday I ALMOST said something to a couple that was making out next to my weight bench.

The others --- not annoying, just part of the gym habitat :)

I love this!

Laughing internally at the Gym People is one of my best motivational tools! I am so sad when I don't have gym stories to share with my friends!

I watched a woman apply purfume in the locker room yesterday before her workout. It was some sort of awful body spray and she used a ton. Ugh.

My favorite are the people who are totally into their workout music. Some sing out loud. Some bust out some dance moves. I've seen a woman salsa on the treadmill for 30 minutes. AMAZING!

Oooh, I wanna play!

-The guys who NEVER wipe anything down or put away their weights. Just coz I can lift the 20kg plates doesn't mean that I enjoy putting yours away!

-The guys who give me well meaning advice and direct me towards the machines. Ummm if you watched me for a minute you would see I don't need the machines, and in fact I maxed some of them out so they are useless to me now!

@Proud - well, that's one way to get the gym all to myself. I guarantee that my singing would clear the place out - FAST!

LOL!! I needed a good laugh today; my day is dragging!

I find myself singing aloud sometimes, but when "that song" comes on, it surely does something serious to ya and you just can't help it!!

there was a guy at my prior gym who would sing REALLY LOUD to his MP3. He was getting into the music, grooving a bit on the Stair Master, eyes closed.

I'm always afraid I'll do that.

....Or, when you innocently say hello to a girl and she looks at you like you just ran over her dog and says nothing in return.

That is hilarious.

The Earthquake is also known for dropping his weights with a mighty grunt and an earth-shattering clang.

I've seen most of these.

They also forgot the Yahoo Thighmaster.

These are real; they're only visible in January, generally (right after new year's resolution time). They sit on the thigh adduction machines drinking yoohoo and occasionally squeezing off a rep or two... and wonder why they aren't losing weight.

Of course, this ephemeral beast vanishes after a couple of weeks.

It can be distracting at the gym but I use my ear buds to block out the sounds and concentrate on getting through the workout and getting out of the gym.

I used to workout on base and the sounds coming from the weight room were annoying. Grunt, heavy breath, slam. Grunt some more. ACK!

I've noticed a few people who bring their own disinfectant whips and clean the entire spinning bike before they take class. They clean areas that their bodies will never touch. Hey! Why are you cleaning the flywheel? Afraid that some germs might fly off and hit your body during your workout???

So interesting - not annoying - just interesting.

LOL funny but they didn't mention the guys that over-do it. After their sets, they slam the weights down and give a LOUD grunt. Gahhhh it drives me CRAZY!

I'm generally ok with people working between my sets as long as they help me change the weights if they put on a bunch of 45lb weights or something. I'm, personally, an aspiring 'Herculass' :D

I would add another type who hates to wait for the equipment you are using to be available, proposes you that he uses the equipment (e.g. power rack) when you are resting between sets, and refuses to restore the weights after he is done with his exercise. Ends up distracting not only me, but himself too.

Bahaha that's hilarious.

I so agree with the one about the guy wiping invisible sweat from his brow to show off his six-pack. I think guys like that are the reason I do my workouts at home.

Thanks for sharing!

I think a couple of these are a little bit mean to point out, but a few of them had me laughing pretty hard. I think the one that makes me roll my eyes most often is the "altitude sickness" one listed in the article. Haha!

They did, however, forget about the older ladies with the tight workout bras and loose tops with too much cleavage.
