the last two days I have tried a newer elliptical. It involves arm movement, as well, and I am feeling it big time! It tracks strides differently, so I'm not getting quite the mileage I'm used to, but it's probably more accurate, and I know I'm getting more out if it.

@ Mandy, mine are way past the "crunchy" stage but yes, thats how it started for me(Many years ago) There are things available now that will keep you from getting as bad as mine are. See your doctor for his/her opinion maybe you can fix it before its too late

Sometimes I wonder If I will need knee surgery, I know someone in my family has had it done. Every time I walk down my stairs I can here my knees sounding like rice krispies, Or if I walk down steep stairs my knees will hurt, just wondering if the same happened to you or what the signs maybe.
