Great idea!! I am so having a rough day I need to be reminded of the "Big Picture"
My 12 week goal is to lose 60 pounds. I have lost 9.5 so far.
My mini goal is to add excersise at least once a day each day of the week, with a short 15 minutes before work. So far so good onthat too.

Hey all...we are 2 weeks into our challenge (as of Monday). I think it would help to keep our goals in front of us on a weekly basis. Would everyone post their 12-week goal and their progress, and I'll collect the "data" and post it weekly? It will help us keep on the straight and narrow - especially when we have a holiday coming up (gulp), a dinner out on the town, a family get together, etc. What do you guys think?
My original challenge for the 12 weeks is a 25-pound weight loss. I have lost 3 pounds. I need to be losing 2 per week to reach my goal.

I second the financial aid system sucking. For some real stupid reason I dont qualify for it either. My husband is in the military and with only his base pay we would be able to get FA but you have to count in the money he gets for his uniforms and housing, cause we live in Chicago and not somewhere like kentucky, and that puts us over.

5/25 1. 1470cals 2. a rest day 3. 8 cups water 4. a nice lazy day but I craved a donut with my coffee and went and got one. I made sure that my dinner was low cal though.

I didn't lose or gain this week. Weight still 207, guess I should be lucky with all that went on this week. Good job on all the loses and hang in there for all the gains and no movement.s

Hi guys!
Ok ...here is the scoop! I have almost a 6 lbs gain this morning as compared to yesterday morning and...my ankles are swollen huge! I took a water pill and drank all my water but...I never got up even once in the middle of the night to pee which is not like me! I usually am up and down several times in the middle of the night on the days I take a water pill so...I am thinking all the sodium from the buffet dinner mustve made me hold on to the water. I just know that there is no way I ate enough calories to gain 6 lbs so...I guess I wont stress too much. Next week they will be gone.

2. 30 min on stationary bike, some light house cleaning.
3. Drank 5 32 oz glasses of water
4. I am proud that I still keep mindful and try even if I am not doing everything perfect at least I havent given up and gone back to the old me.
This weekend is gonna be hard for me cuz we have all sorts of big eating events on the calendar. My trick is gonna be lots and lots of exercise because I know myself well enough that I am not gonna be able to say no to picnic food. One thing I can say no to and so CANT WE ALL RIGHT? :D Is seconds! I am challenging each and every one of us to say NO to second helpings of anything during this holiday weekend. Eat just enough to not feel deprived but ...do not over indulge!
Hope you all have a great weekend! It is raining here today but is supposed to clear up by this evening and be beautiful sunny until thursday next week!
Ps I am also gonna try wendie plan. I am gonna start it on tuesday though.

Good morning...Today is our day!!
... ...we'll see, I was supossed to go to the gym yesterday to my class and to get my weight in....but I got free tickets for a baseball game last night and decided to do an exchange...I did my heavy cleanning yesterday, if that counts :)
5/25 1. 1225 cals 2. 15-20 glasses water 3. no exercise, but my "heavy cleanning"
4. I had lots of fun at the baseball game, as I was having a great time I decided not to have beer, but diet soda instead, and from the buffalo wings order, I decided to sheer with my son and only ate 1/4 of that order which was like 5 wings (about 400 cals), no fries or anything else, but light chips.
AT THE GAME, THERE WERE A LOT OF GIRLS..SOME LARGE, SOME SMALL, SOME VERY LARGE, SOME VERY SMALL, AND DECIDED I WILL KEEP WORKING HARD TO BE PART OF THE SMALL GROUP, I WANT TO BE HEALTHY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, AND INCLUDED IN MY DETERMINATION IS MY SUNSHINE (my son). I was THINKING LAST NIGHT I AM really proud of all of us trying to be healthier, and looking forward to keep the wEight off for long...WAY TO GO GIRLS!!!!

Ok, I am back! I was out of town for a while.
I have bad news, I got new scales and calibrated them and my old scales were off, so I actually weigh 179! Opps, but the skirt I have on fits better, so I am going to say I lost a lb in there somewhere. :)
I have been under 1400 calories every day, except for my birthday dinner, which came to a little over 1600 which is still in my range.
I have been doing 50 crunches a night, and alternating three sets of weight training every night. I have yet to really build in cardio because of my weird schedule. :(

Aunt Flow arrived right on schedule this morning! The final PMS straw came last night when the urge for CHOCOLATE NOW hit, I had two Viactiv milk chocolate calcium chews. Although they put me over my very low carb day limit by 8 grams, it seemed a more satisying choice than sucking down a dry packet of hot chocolate which is the only other chocolate thing in my pantry.

Does anyone know if they make sugar free Viactiv?
Anyways, this morning my WI is 154 lbs. (2 lbs. less than yesterday, but up 2 lbs. from last week) Not a great way to begin a holiday weekend, and the start of a weeks vacation with our Italian family in NY = Pasta + Pastries = Pounds!!!
Wish me luck. Since I'm going to need all the help I can get, I plan on checking in here daily for accountablilty and support. This Sunday will be my next "Very High carb Day" at my nieces first birthday party, then I'll try to follow the Wendie plan as close as possible the rest of the week.
5/25 1. Very low carb Day 28 grams (8 from Viactiv chews) 2. No exercise other than doing loads of laundry & packing 3. 8 cups water 4. Chose to eat 2 Viactive Milk Chocolate calcium Chews to satisfy PMS chocolate cravings rather than my usual snickers bar.

Weight 155.8 lb!!!
That may be very little compared to last week, BUT, after my brutal weekend and the sweets from the Italian bakery in Boston, I thought I had done my weight in. However, I'm actually down - 1/5 of a pound, but that's something.
1. 1138 calories 2. 30 minute walk/jog (15 minutes jogging) 3. 16 glasses 4. The day got away and I hadn't worked out. I decided I'd take the trash out (a 1/4 miles walk there and back) and by the time I got back to the door, I was feeling so great, I had to keep on going. I wound up doing a 30 minute run/walk. I still had 2 hours of work left, but only the walk helped me stay awake and not kill off any patients

3. 12 cups water; 3 cups of green tea
4. I finally went to gym after several weeks of not going. I'm using the a modified version of "Couch to 5k" I usually hate to jog, but this was very doable.

Ok, the good news, I guess, for fast track phase, is that my weight stayed the same. 5/26/06=216lbs
Yesterday was a horrible eating day.
1. 2800 calories 2. 6 cups of water 3. no exercise 4. I guess the only good thing I have to report is that I didn't get take-out pizza, which crossed my mind.
Three days out of town, so wish me luck! Monday starts my next phase of the plan, which is the "real" diet, so to speak. I hope I can meet all of my goals, at least most of the time.

weigh in 188 so -1 lb, not bad, honestly I'm not disappointed to have not lost more. With my period and all I'm suprised I even lost a pound.

Weight loss 2 kg - about 4.5 lb I guess this fancy diet of watching what you eat and exercising more might work after all
1. 1554 calories (A massive 4 over the limit) 2. 40 min walk into town and back in the rain, 45 min on the arc trainer at the gym and a massive ab workout I am going to really regret tomorrow and do it again anyway 3. 12 glasses 4. I was doing very well until I had an extra muesli bar after tea instead of just having an apple

1 - 2526 calories 2 - 30 mins walk and str training 3 - 2 cups of water ouch 4 - Funny thing is I didn't feel guilty about overeating my cals today (went to a resturant, friend was paying) but my stomach was telling me I ate way too much (I had like 7 fries a couple cheese sticks 1/2 of the chicken sandwich and two glasses of peach tea) I think I've learned that now that I've been eating less my stomach has shrunk a little and I can't (and shouldn't) eat big meals anymore.

Jenifer - I understand completely. I have been going for about two years now to get my accounting degree. I am hoping to go full time next year. Now that I stay home I might actually be able to get financial aid. Good luck.

Even though I didn't feel good I made sure I cleaned the whole house top to bottom. Usually I break it up into one room a day.

Oh no I'm on my own for that one :( The whole system for getting financial aid for school sucks. Both the way the gov and the school does it. The way they award it stinks too you don't get your money until after the first day of the quarter. You can "borrow" against your potential aid to pay for classes and books but first you'd have to know you were getting some. All it really means for me is that I'll have lots of student loans when I get out of school. Hopefully I won't have too much trouble finding a job! (I'm planning on becoming a K-8 teacher)

1 - 1298 (finally a lower number) 2 - no exercise today 3 - 5 cups of water 4 - The girl I work with brought a bunch of candy in to munch on, I stayed away from it.
I have never heard of the wendie plan, but it sounds interesting, I will have to go check it out. I'm a little slow posting today, I had a neice and two nephews graduating high school today, so I went to their graduation.
Everyone sounds like they are doing great! Keep up the great work. This week has been a tough one for me for diet and exercise, so the scale looks a little scary for me tomorrow.

| Jenifer, isn't exercise a wonderful thing? It not only burns calories, but it relieves stress. If we could all just keep that in mind, we'd be a whole lot better off! I hope things work out with the loan/financial aid. Dealing with that stuff (those people) can be grueling! Do they pay for the interest on the loans you have to take out while they are "reviewing your case?"

5/24 1. 1120 calories. Altough mostly chicken. So my protien was way up for a change! 2. 18 cups 3. Walked he 4 mile track around thepark, plus the 2 1/2 blocks there and back. 45 minutes McDonald's DVD's. 4. Resisted mashed potatoes AND chocolate cupcakes!! Had too much chicken instead though. Plus I excersised. So it was a good day.
I also tried a step class at the gym near my house. I had a free pass for one week, I thought I'd try it out before I move away in two weeks. Hopefully this week I'll be trying lots of new things out!

I am truely thankful I don't keep sweets in my house or they'd be all gone today. I'm super stressed out over financial aid for school. My file is still under "review" and the gal told me she had no idea how long it takes (in other words the quarter could be over and *then* I would get my finaid...). So yet again I'm having to take out a loan :( I feel so depressed too it sucks. So again I went for a walk with my little guy in his jogger stroller and I feel a bit better. I'm really glad I have you guys around! You help me stay motivated!

Great job, Cie. It's SO easy to just sink into depression and go "all the way" so to speak, which only plunges us farther into the big black hole. Taking a nice walk instead was a great substitute. Have you read the posts below about the Wendi Plan? your excess in points might prove to be a good thing

Hi guys!
I tried to post yesterday but...everytime I logged on my computer froze up! I dont know why? But today it seems to be right as rain so...here is my posting for tuesday and wed
Tues 1. ww points 39 out of 34 (I was way over due to eating out at Dairy Queen. I made better choices but still ate too much)
2. Exercise. walked 45 min. 40 min at curves.
3. Drank like a fish 5 ..32 oz glasses of water for a total of 160 oz.nearly 2.5 times the recommended.
4. I was proud of myself because I over ate and instead of feeling sorry for myself and eating more I went for a nice long power walk!
ok and here is wed
1. 42 ww pnts out of 34 :( once again I went way over on my points. I went out to an auce buffet. I ate onion loaf, salad, soup and ice cream with hot chocolate syrup on it and peanuts. I also had two small pcs of garlic bread UGH!!
2. Ok the good news is that I earned tons of exercise pnts so I should be good! I went for 3 walks for a total of about 1 hour and 20 min. The first walk happened at 7:30 am. I walked my son to school approximately 1.3 miles round trip. Then my second walk was when I went to go get my son from school. Same distance. Then While he was in school I went to curves and did 45 min of circuit training. Then...after dinner...while the other adults were drinking coffee me and the three little ones (my sisters kids, 5 yr old twins and a three yr old) decided to try to run off some of our excess calories and we ran around the restaurant about 3 times. It took us 18 min and I was so tired! I ran until I ran out of breath and then I would walk. Then I would run etc...I'll bet the other patrons thought we were daft! By the way this is also my ....
#4. see above! I was really proud of that run/walk! I didnt have to do it but I did anyways and the kids thought is was a hoot! SO...Let's see what the scales say tomorrow!
About this Wendy diet I will have to check it out too! Does she use ww pnts?
