Hi Brieget and Rita
Sorry i haven't posted lately I have been working nights and preparing to move. I really need to get more fitness done. I'm eating better but no motivation to get exercising. Hope you two are doing well. Hopefully when I get moved I can get a routine going.
Talk to you soon.

This looks like where I'm at too. Seem to have been a UK 14 forever and would love to be a 12 for August and a 10 (US 8 I figure too) by Christmas. Have been lurking around 127 lbs for a month. Seem to do this on every 5 lb drop but it's because I wobble around with motivation and eat the easiest rather than the best choices.
This time I had a holiday ---ooooh I love pizza though I don't eat it at home any more. And then had one of those grim cold and cough viruses. Always brought up to feed a cold --so there you go. Any old excuse. Back to the motivation.

Hi Rita

Dont beat yourself up about it, you went on vacation, did you enjoy yourself?? As long as you enjoyed yourself dont feel guilty, just work extra hard to compensate.
I ate far too much again and feel like all my hard work in the gym has gone to waste...but once again im just gonna pick myself up and move on...

Hi Val and Bridget, Help. I was on vacation and ate lots. The good news is we went to 2 restaurants and I ordered high fat but only ate about 1/2 of it so I wasn't gluttonous. No real exercise done- I was driving more than walking.
Help me get back on track,
Rita

Hi Briege i'm working my first night in a stretch of 4. Right now all my exercise is coming from painting and reno work. I'm terrible at getting exercise when i work nights. My mind and body don't switch back and forth like they used to. Since i've joined Sparkpeople about a month ago i have lost 6lbs. Well break is over back to work, i'll talk later. go ladies go.

Hi Rita my goals are to eat properly and to get healthy. I've only been heavy for 5 years and need to learn how to be proactive. I'm trying to do cardio and weight lifting on alternate days. I'm a special care aide and this month my shifts are all nights. I'm glad to join this challenge.

I am exercising. I started doing about 4-5 days (strength and weights) on Jan 1st. Instead of losing weight, I gained 10 lbs. I stalled and did not start losing weight until I found this site. That's when I started eating better (less take out, more fruit and veggies, and I added cardio- I usually get on my stepper. I know I need to add other cardio but have not done so other than some walking).
I have on a bra today (underwire) that did not fit (too small and uncomfortable) a month ago so already the news is good. I am still working toward a smaller dress size- zipping up my old 14s.
Another thing I am doing differently- I am wearing a dress or skirt more often. My pants had an elastic waist and were a bit too comfortable especially after a large meal.

Hi Rita

I must send you through some great recipes from a 30 minute cook book for people trying to lose weight, it seems you are always on teh go and i know how easy it is to just eat carry outs but maybe you just need to plan more, believe me since i started planning my meals for the week i have saved money on shopping bills and i spend one day of the week preparing most meals that can be frozen so as i can eat at a resonable hour, i usually dont get home from work until 7pm and i like to make sure i have eaten before 8pm so as my food has 3-4 hours to digest before i go to sleep...

I have been on the site for a week now and I love it!! so much better to have support.
My day is like most I hate my job so I havent been feeling very good, but, i have learnt to use that anger in the gym, and am now looking for new job to help go with the new me!!

I have the 10th August marked down in my diary, it doesnt seem that long away!!!...dont forget that watching what you eat isnt the only way to drop a dress size, you can exercise!! I've been going to the gym for 5 weeks now and can see the different in my clothes as my body is more toned even though im maybe not losing too much weight!!!

Hi Briege
I am happy to be your partner and lose a dress size. I am wearing a 16-18 dress (large chest) and a 14 pants but I can't wear my 14 shorts. (I don't understand the sizing differences in Europe so you are asking the wrong person.) I agree with your suggestions about fried foods so I am broiling or baking more.
Right now I am working 2 jobs and have an application in for 2 others but there are only so many hours in the day. Needless to say I am busy and don't have a lot of time to cook so we have been eating a lot of carry out. On the days I am off (since I started Sparkpeople 3 weeks ago) I have cooked twice as much and eaten left overs that were healthy. Its working and I am trying.
How long have you been on the site? How was your day?

Hi Rita

Yes we are talking 10th August, UK sizes are different than US im a UK 14, think that is US 12, im i right??
Anyway I want to be a UK size 12 by August then try for 10 by Xmas...
I love bread too, but i just have to tell myself that it doesnt love me!!! I have found wholemeal and grain breads that are less in calories and taste nice too, ,my biggest downfall is dairy - cheese, coleslaw, potato salad etc..
Instead of fried food you need to find new recipes for grilled or oven baked food to try and replace those cravings for fried foods...

I went to gym last night and spent 2 hours doing cardio to make up for my bad weekend of dairy indulgence!!!...feel much better about it now.

I live in Maryland, exercise at home using a stepper (cardio) and a seven day plan that alternates weight lifting and flexibility days. My biggest problem is I like fried food and bread and could live without vegetables. I want to wear my warm weather clothes though so help me head in that direction. What size are you now and what do you want to wear in 3 months?
Are we talking about August 10th?

Anyone want to join me??

I am setting out a plan so as I can drop a dress size by 4th August, this isnt just about dieting, its about exercising as well, jsut think...no matter how much weight you want to lose that first drop in size will be the most exhilarating!!!!!
