Thank you all for the thoughts and help...it is nice to know I have such a great support group with our biggest loser Challenge group, Red Team or Blue Team...it's nice to have a you all behind me. Thank you again, I am still going at it, maybe angry at myself, but still sticking with it. This time next year, I will be noticeably thinner! Thanks again, Sue

Heyyyyyyyy Suezzzzzzzzzzzzzzq aka Y2Sue-- don't give up Missy -- we're all here for you. You have accomplished MUCH MUCH MUCH thus far. You'll get over this hurdle. I agree with the starvation mode -- if I stay towards the lower end, I binge by day 4 or 5 -- if I'm steady at the mid-to-higher range of my calorite intake -- I do MUCH better.
If you, or anyone else, ever feels this way -- please post -- we're here to help pull you through -- because we all want to be the BIGGEST LOSER!!!!
Go RED!!

Hey Y2suec Don't give up. You are down fron 252 to 230 something. The way I see it, thats like 20 pounds. I know what it's like to want to give up. I have blown it because of a birthday, stress, hard day at work, or just falling apart, you gain a few pounds and all you want to do is regroup. What ever is going on hurry back soon and always remember we will be here. I am truely hoping less of me because I'm on the blue team. Best to you Lynnbaum I reread your post and it looks like you took off 30#s. Bigloser3 Thanks I needed that. Today was a wafer day and I did well.

Thanks for the support, Cruisepuppy. I read an article from one of the first biggest loser people, Kelly. She started out at a similar weight to what I started at and has lost 9 sizes! She shared some of the tips the trainers, in her case Jillian, gave them on weight loss. One of the things is to exercise in the morning because your body will be depleted of glycogen in the morning and start to use your body fat stores to replenish. Whereas if you have enter throughout the day, your body will just use what has been put in most recently to your body. So, I am going to start on that right away. The other idea that seemed interesting was rotating calorie days...such as 1200 one day, 1500 the next and then 1800, then start again at 1200. She said your body goes into starvation mode if you keep decreasing your calorie count, then your body will resist weight loss, which is kind of what you were saying. Maybe I will start that next week and try that. I was very frustrated this morning, but I feel much better now. I will hang in there. I hope you are right about the weighin in November! Thanks again and take care, Sue

Sue, You've done a great job, keep it going. Don't get discouraged. Cruisepuppy has great words of advice. It is a mind game sometime and I swear that voice is always saying to me it's easier to do nothing than to work at it. Look at all of the people you see every day around town. Most of them have given up on their jobs, body, looks, life. It's always easier to give in than to work at it.
I'ms sorry to hear that you are feeling that way. Sometimes the scale doesn't always tell you what you want to see but other factors are impacting your life.
Are you sleeping better? Clothes fit better? Do you have more strength and stamina?
I hope that you stick with it...you've made such great progress I'd hate to see that go down the drain.

Hi all, I'm just checking in. We just had our weigh-in for our work challenge on Friday, and I was down a pound from my Tuesday weigh-in! woo hoo! I will weigh again on Tuesday morning and report in for the blue team. Hopefully, I will have another 1/2 pound or so to report. It sounds like a few people are feeling a bit down, and I'm sorry to hear it. Please try to focus on the fact that this is a lifestyle change and in life, we're not always perfect, but we do have the chance to make up for "slip-ups" (for lack of a better word -- like pizza) the next day! I'm truly enjoying the support that I'm receiving from this challenge, and I find everyone truly amazing. I actually look at some of the losses and the amount of time that many of you have dedicated to losing weight, and I am so in awe. Chrissy, your pics are amazing. I am enjoying seeing your transformation!
Take care all! Michele

| Sue...you've had some really good/steady weight loss lately, and sometimes your body just has to regroup to adjust to what you've lost, and to see if you are truly going to eat/exercise this way over the long haul, so don't get discouraged. It WILL continue to come down if YOU continue to stay the course. You just have to be patient and determined to keep going. It's a game, and right now your mind is trying to win by discouraging you. You must pull the next move in the game by shaking it up a bit, change your exercise routine, add a few minutes, and carefully track your food. It WILL keep on going down, but wants to be sure you REALLY want it! Set a new goal that is very reachable...say a pound or two away and then FIGHT for it and reward yourself with something for getting it! You are getting very close to the 'teens, girl...your brain is telling you that's IMPOSSIBLE, but you tell it that is IS!!! Stick with this for a few more weeks and you could be there by the first weighin in November!!

Hello all... I am having a rough time lately, not losing and getting fed up. I will keep working for the Red Team, since I hate to disappoint anyone. I will get back online when I get in a better frame of mind. Sue

| Lynnbaum, Don't get too upset about the gain after eating pizza... most pizza is high in sodium so i'll bet you are retaining water. i know when i eat pizza my rings get tight and I weigh anywhere from 1-2 lbs more the next morning. I know that pizza is fattening, but I'd have to eat a whole pizza to get enough calories to gain a real pound overnight.

Hello Everyone, If you had a bad day (an we all have) try to move on and get back on track the next day. I know that the weekends are hard and we all should stay focused but still have a treat especially if you are doing extra fitness to work off those calories.
Shelly has some good advice. Let's think of our team, our individual goals and even our monetary goals. Like she said, for the $30 she spent on dinner she could have bought a pair of shoes. I like that thinking. Maybe instead of going out and splurging on dinner, set aside some money that you can spend on a new workout outfit, jeans, jewelery or whatever. Feel proud of your accomplishments no matter how small and learn from the set backs.
Everyone have a great weekend!

Good Morning Everyone
Well the weekend is here and I know that for alot of us that is the hardest time to watch our "diets". I just wanted to say that we can do this, if we are tempted by something we should just think of all the other Big Losers on the challenge and know that all of us are probably feeling tempted too. It is such a good feeling when you avoid temptation. I have alot of room to talk, I am feeling so guilty because I went out to dinner last night with friends and not only do I feel guilty about not making healthy choices, I wasted $30.00 on food and drinks. I could have had a new pair of shoes instead. Okay well now that I have 'fessed up, I am ready to make healthy choices the rest of the weekend and beyond.
Good Luck!
GO BLUE!!!
Shelley

Will-be-thin of course I remember you. I guess I thought I could just slide back in here and hope no one noticed I jumped from 126 that I was at during the 20# to the weight I am now. I am glad to hear I am still welcomed. I missed chatting about the evil of fat or plump bodies. Looks like I put back on 15#s. The biggest difference I have noticed is I feel heavy. I don't have that bounce in my step I had a while back but I will get it back. Down 3 so far for this week. I do have to drive all day Sat to go pick up an embroidery machine. 6 hours away. There and back in 1 day. I told my husband no snacin the car for me! Lynnbaum BTW FG my one day is in the cafe. I should of put it in a journal. Sorry

Hey, Gwynnie, I like your thoughts about 'detaching the feelings' from food! It's so true! It also helps me to just walk through Walmart or the mall and take a look a people, and just say to myself...do I want to look like HER? And good or bad, that can be a real motivator for me that the funnel cake at the fair, or ordering pizza, etc are just NOT worth a few minutes of tasty pleasure. It's more fun feeling lighter, and not having to hate the mirror anymore! And I still get to eat, too! Actually what I do get now tastes BETTER, and I really enjoy it because I'm truly hungry and it's limited!
Chrissy...I can't believe that picture! I didn't even recognize you! That is amazing!!!! You look about 25 years younger now than you did then!!! WOW! What a difference 50 pounds has made for you!
It sounds like we are going to have some great losses next week after everybodys TOM!! It's going to be fun to see who wins this one! Come on RED Team, LETS DO IT!!!

Hi all I didn't really workout today but I did clean the shop for a couple of hours while I was running parts in a machine. I think it should count. FG I started a thread on the 1 day diet with my progress. I am doing it as a test person. I wouldn't be able to do any diet without the boards. They make being on a diet more exciting. I was happy to see some people here from the last time I was on the 20# challenge.

Hey Lynn..Hi. whats the one day diet?? I lost 50 pounds on here..I know some of it was from what I called "the seperation diet" But I have been at a standstill for awhile...With my hospitalation and my health issue(infected boob)..Its been hard to get on the work out wagon..lus getting a full time job..
Let me tell you how I looked at eating what I wanted cuase I deserved it, or everyone else is..I look at it like its just food, its fuel..It goes in and comes out..And well the good flavor isnt worth the extra pounds, and that I would feel so much better saying NO..I havent really been on a strict diet either..I need to do better... But I just detached from the "feelings" of food...get it??
Ok well I am going to try to get to the gym and do some walking with the dogs..
Ok Im outty..I still never cleaned the house..HOLY!! I need to vaccuum..Maybe tomorrow night..

| Lynnbaum, I know what you mean about watching other people enjoy eating while we are on our diets. It gets frustrating, but I keep thinking, it's just food. At least we are looking good while they aren't:) That is why I give myself a bad day every week. Then maybe I won't crave it so bad during the week. YOu can do it, just keep at it!

Good job Stepmonster...I know the feeling. Why are our bodies so weird? I mean, water weight and all.
Go Blue Team...we can do it next week!

| Okay red team I am feeling really good about this Tuesday's weigh in. I know that it won't be a 3.6 gain like last week.

Hi FG Yes I am but there is more of me. I love sparks but I keep bouncing up and down. I went through that I'm tired of being the one that has to look good and miss out on all the eating except eating is one thing and pigging out on a daily is another. I have been on the see food diet for the last few months and I once again hit my OMG weight where it is time to do something about it again.
way to go stepmonster 4# is a bite. I am doing well on the one day diet right now. I don't feel like I want things. I feel at peace with what I am eating which helps get rid of the pounds. I do have to kick up the workouts because the little fit I have been throughing also included: It is more fun to watch TV.
