| I agree that it is about portion control. I too have very young son that needs traditional meals. I keep to what the box or recipe says is 1 serving and have some fruit and veggies with it and that's my meal and they (husband and son) can have the rest.

Yep - everything is about portion. I love the recipes that are here. I pick ones that everybody will eat. There is just so many out there to choose from. I also give my daughter vitamins everyday to offset what ever she might not get in her diet for that day. I only wish is that my hubby would join me here (he needs to lose as badly as I do)!!!!

| I've got two words for you...portion size. What I usually do is I make sure that there are cut up fruits and veggies in the fridge. Then I'll have small amounts of the BBQ ribs (read 1 or 2), small amounts of the potato salad (like 1/2 cup) and lots of fruits and veggies that are already prepared in the fridge. The rest of my family can eat whatever portions that they want :).

So here is a question: How do I stay on a diet without putting the rest of my family on one? I have been thinking about this more and more and have not come up with any solutions. I only cook 1/2 of the dinner meals and my boyfriend cooks the other 1/2. When I cook it's usually food that I can eat. When he cooks it's more of the "traditional" food. My son is is young and needs the "traditional" meals, protein, vegetables and carbs. I on the other hand sniff a carb and gain weight (at this point) Any suggestions on what can be done?
