I had a one year old daughter and new puppy and the dog hurt it's leg, now this was not a small dog and she was 6 months old. To take her outside I had to go down stairs and carry her the whole time. I gave up after about 3 weeks and just let her go. She is fine and had no problems.

Same thing happened with my puppy, she needed to be crated - which was torture for everyone. Then we had a huge heat wave and I had an excuse to put her in an air conditioned kennel for the last week. I don't think I could have held out otherwise. Then it was over and she was back to her boingy self with no complications.

Yup, pups are difficult to tie down (so to speak). I'm sure the time will fly by. Better to let it heal properly and have a stir crazy pup than it is to have her lame all her life. Good luck!
